In version 1.0 I think we should make some of the cheats ON by default. Stuff that most everyone is always going to want anyway. You can always turn them off. Here's the list I'm thinking of:

 

Infinite Health and Armor

Wanted Level: 0 stars

Time locked

Weather: Sunny

Never fall off your bike

No reloading

 

Beta testers: I just updated the beta with this change, as well as gangs don't attack you.

Not sure about "Never Fall off your bike" but the others I always put on before I do anything so that's a great idea...

I got the 1.0 Beta !

The new hovercar mode is awesome. After a few seconds of flying I picked it up. It really makes it fly around fast.

The large image size is a nice feature... but takes way longer then the standard (makes sense, but if any improvement to speed is done then it would be great)

Unfortunately, I found a bug. When i tried to switch my cheats.txt file it said the directory was empty... it would load up the first file but not switch to the next.

I unloaded and reloaded the save... and it will switch between files now.

 

Edit-- Tony has a free spirit crashes psp now. Trying again.

I don't know how to repro the empty cheats thing. Do a chkdsk on your memory card. Maybe it's screwed up, that would cause it.

 

 

I also use the gravity reversal option to elevate the car like a helicopter. If it's possible, something like that'd be a nice default for the down button the d-pad I think.

I was trying to think of what button to use for that. DOWN is easy to reach. What do you guys think, DOWN or UP? I updated the beta with UP to try that for now. I think UP is going to be better. DOWN is confusing.

You gotta keep 333mhz, or else the game'll crash on most Stunt Parks. It's good that people can actually give their opinions and say what they think should happen w/ the CheatDevice. Cool

I also found that! I think I made a video of it once, I used the "Perfect Traction" cheat to go there, and I jumped with my car with DOWN.

 

I am still looking for the Mission Select in the hex dump and by using captures, hopefully I can find it in time.......

hey edison, now all we need is neon's on the hover cars and it will be blinging, and yeah i dont come here as often as i have a big deadline coming up, also i got a new computer which can handle half-life 2 / counter-strike source so i have been having alot of fun over there...grays mod and such [dont worry i still think your better than that gary bloke]. i'm liking the back to the future look. will bikes also hover?

 

also all this talk of fullscreen video??? hey guys where was the support for it when i asked months ago when we first started stunting ?

What do you think about providing the full screen video recorder option?  Is it a good thing, or will it be abused?  We really want people to use the smaller size most of the time except for occasional important short clips.  There is the factor that the large size is 4x slower to record, which will help encourage the smaller recording it least a little.  Can we rely on the honor system?

 

Currently, I'm naming the options "Standard" and "Large (for experts only)".  The large video recorder will NOT display any instructions or progress bar because there is no technical way to display those without them potentially getting into the recording.  You'll just have to already know that DOWN+X = Stop.

 

I fabricated the entire handling system for hover cars from scratch.  It's different from the handling of cars on the ground but also different from the way airplanes or helicopters fly.  It's more like driving a car than an airplane and you have much better control over the vehicle.  I think if you could drive the DeLorean in Back To The Future, it might work something like this.  If you challenge yourself to fly low and in between buildings, it's fun to practice and learn to drive well.  I find it enjoyable just cruising around the city.  It makes for fast and easy transportation around the map.  It's hard to go back to the slow old ground cars after you get spoiled on this.

 

oh how did I miss this post...

 

I find the standard option easier to deal with than the fullscreen when I want to just make a fast capture. I don't think many will go crazy with it though because it's a sloth, but maybe something like "use only for important short clips" in there will make a difference too. Couldn't hurt...

 

I said all that stuff about hover cars and didn't even know you made it from scratch. That's amazing; it seems like something already in the game but unlocked. I feel my commentary is unworthy for such craftsmenship that I know 0.00 about... but we were asked to give feedback...

edit; oh, 5mins left. that means I have 1min. I prefer the down dpad button for elevation control since it's closer to the analog and won't trigger side missions though there is a way to stop that from happening... It's just so much easier to reach and I won't be confused by it..

Something strange just happened. I wanted to see if I could fly boats with this too, so I played the salvatore mission and planned to steal the boat, but this happened. I did it twice, the second time I recorded it. had "car is indestructable on" and it still exploded everytime I touch the bow of the boat or something on in that region..

 

 

And Lol we have hoverbikes.

Edison, could you maybe add the drivable rc cars to CD, that way if someone new spawns one it won't crash when they enter it.

it can just be something that is enered only once at he start of cheat device. since it'll last once it's de-activated, and through loading new saves it doesn't need to be something always running in the background.

Or just make it so that when you click to spawn an RC Car it will turn on. We dont really see them driving around.

Anybody found the location of the grenade smoke? I have been messing around with changing the color. I can get the cheat to activate, but when you put in the cheat to load weapons set 1, the game crash's. I love driving the RC's. It reminds of the go-cart from S.A.
