Picolini
As for poly waste, it is quite a bit for this car, that's for sure. But I'm not going to go through the trouble of redoing the wheel arches just to lower the poly count on this car. Total it's just over 2,300, which isn't sh*t. And I got it from this website... LOTS of crap looking stuff, but some gems in there, they just need some TLC... http://www-c.inria.fr/gamma/download/download.php

ParoXum
Some angle of the windscreen needs to be worked out. Interior is pretty finished, just details remains. After that i'll make some proper wheels and rims. Cause these ones sux a lot (spline + bevel).

Starion
Ok. I trashed the charger ( I will not take any argument. It was cr*p!) So to practice my max skills a bit more I might be following that notorious fiat 500 tutorial. Either was I think im doing really really well: Please tell me what you think. @burner that is soo awsome. What program are you using to model it? mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno. [DRuG]NikT
Starion: I trashed the charger ( I will not take any argument. It was cr*p!) Words of encouragement, but not just for the sake of it - an observation from my Yoda side.... Many of the models I have been involved in or worked with have begun to look their worst when they were two thirds complete... it's a quirk.. you also notice it with some really good models when they are untextured - they leave you with the opinion - "How could I possibly have thought this was going anywhere - it's going to look sh*te!" when you hadn't seen it before. All I can suggest is KEEP GOING!!! Really, a lot of the time it's only symptomatic of the stage, not the model... you may be surprised how it turns out, but not if you give up at this stage, which I will reiterate, usually looks sh*t with most models. IT MAY NOT BE YOU! I do commercial texturing of plane mods for flight sim, and keep thinking of a great example using a model they supplied me and asked me to texture - the change, I would suggest, just with a little texturing, was enormous... yours may very well end up the same. First, the one they sent me... Now, after a little texturing = Don't give up dude! ...In other news... Burner, Burner, He's our man His Models Rock And I'm a great fan! List of things wrong with it: stupidly bad normals Worlds messyest wireframe Modeled overall wrong I could say And with a lot of effort I could do it a lot better now. I never give updoing projects in general. Its just what I model ive never been too satisfied with. Anyways I am very very proud of how far my fiat has got so far. SeaNorris.
Yeah 1989 Jester MkII Comments, and certainly improvements (due to my mind being blank) very much welcome.
simplyunkillable
you could make it a bit blockyer (is that even a word?) and shove some tacky 80's era black rubber bumpers on. back then, that would be uber L33T sportscar. *shudder*. it would look ugly as hell, but would happly fit the era. SeaNorris.
Considering the car is designed in 1989 (just 3 years before the Supra MkIV came out) I'd think that this design is more 90's orientated (late 1989, touching early 90's) hence why it's not a huge leap away from the Jester in SA (which is this cars successor)
Picolini
It looks a bit modern for it's time, but not too crazy in design. I say it's fine. Here's an update on the Cheretta... added some body stripping, side markers, etc, etc and did the damage parts... next mapping for paintjobs and adding a main grungy texture. Then possibly making a Beretta style spoiler... yes it is necessary to have a spoiler on a fwd car Compared to the Cadrona, I'd say this is about as SA style as a mod can get... Bonsaijodelfisch
Interior's modeled. Needs to be texture mapped. Don't have time tonight...bah. great pic1 great pic2 great pic3 I hate interiors. if you do all this hated work to put the car ingame you will have to change the wheeltextures, since they will spin you can't show specific sun positions or it will look horrible while driving. otherwise HELL YEAH

Timpo
@ seanorris: I guess you made the roof an extra, right? but can you still buy roof scoops when the roof's not on? that would be my only point, but it isn't a big one.
Tchuck
Been ages since I last modelled anything fresh, mainly (and probably solely) due to the fact that using opengl on 3dsmax = no textures appearing on any viewports, thus, no blueprints, thus, no modelling. And using direct3d makes thing just too damn slow. So I decided to restart work on my facelifted enzo, decided to scrap much of what I had done, decided to give a more alfa look to it, so: Which I'm finding way better than: Also, why the hell is max making everything 2 sided, when in the viewports setting the "Force 2 sided" box isn't checked? (It shows in the render too, I didn't really told it to force two sided)
Organic Zero
did you add materials to the mesh? if soo, check the material properties on the material editor, it might be 2-sided there....
Tchuck
Pfft, how noobish of me, such a simple thing. Well, that's one thing down, there's still the no texture shown on viewports policy by opengl. And an update: It's starting to remind me of the 1967 Alfa 33-2 Stradale... That's a good thing I guess..
Burner
Bonsaijodelfisch: Yup. I know It will be changed before going in a game, but for pic purposes, it'll be as it is since it looks better in stillshots.. I've seen people who did forget to fix that before exporting into a game and the wheels did look awful funky in motion. SeaNorris: Um, what's diferent? It's been a while since I played SA but that looks like the stock jester from what I remember. "....no blueprints...." Blueprints are for... SISSIES! Is a nice model though. Do you create single faces in Max? The only way I ever modeled in Max was starting from boxes which I never liked. I forget who asked, but to answer: I use Zmod 1.5a. Picolini
bjiz, you spotted him It's really crappy up close, I did it in 2 minutes and gave up. Besides the helmet model not being similar to the Stig's, the mapping is sh*t. But it still looks cool from far
TRN4L
D3D makes your max go slow? in my experience its much faster in D3D. whats the specs of your computer?
Tchuck
It slows down a lot in vertex mode. My specs: Pentium 4, 2 GHZ, 512 RAM, GeForce Fx 5200 (128mb I think) Ever since I updated the video drived it started that. And then I updated it again thinking it would fix, but it didn't. And Burner, not only prints, but textures too. So when mapping something, I can't see how good it is or where it needs some alignment, unless I render it for every change I make And yeah, start with a single poly, and proceed from there Update: (Still a bit unsure about the horizontal things inside the alfa grill...) Need some ideas for the rear... Edited December 6, 2006 by Tchuck
Organic Zero
since the front is quite round compared to the original enzo, you should do the same to the back, may round it a bit on the edges, to make it flow the style used on the front
.59 Reverse
i wonder if anyone will know what this is looks a bit like a chevy monza sports hatch to me.. tchuck, the Tipo "33-2" isnt looking too bad.. ithas potrntial to be something great, but you need to change the headlights too.. the rear treatment you ought to use should be somewhat inspired by the style of the alfa diva concept.. that one is another car that was sorta similar to the original Tipo 33 Stradale.. actually, you ought to take another look at the side too.. or else it's going to end up just looking like an enzo with a different front and rear.. the Diva, 8C, and original Tipo 33 will give you a lot of help as far as what direction to do in with the design..maybe i'll give one a try too.. i hate it when people inspire me.. tachiagaru to dorifuto. ...endo put roofies in everything. he wants to buttrape you. bjiz
I like it a lot Tchuck!!! much better than the real Enzo, ugly ugly car that is! i like the rear like it is, the front also has some sharper lines. The only thing i would do is make that slot in the back a bit bigger and fit exhausts in there. Makes me want to work on my concept car again (shame i don't have the time)
