Select all objects you are going to attach in object mode, make sure you are not in selected mode, then use modify/attach. The last object you click on will keep it's name and axis.

I tried that before, but it didn't work. I guess i'll have another go.

Way too early to post screens, I've restarted the walton mod 5 times now

Well, I'll be off teh innernets for a bit

I'll release the walton mod and bullet mod using my neighbor's connection......

When I come back it will be all new, original stuff, starting with the '04 Chrysler Sebring........

Really loving the 599, looks great. I love that cars styling.

 

@AZSupra, nice smooth mesh ya got there. Coming along nicely.

 

Now.. here's the first ever wheel I've made, well still working on it obviously. I need to model one more part, and then (re) texture it all. Maybe adjust some parts here or there...

Currently sitting at about 1,600 polys. Not too high, I'd say.

lol, yeah, the underdog, walton gta. If ever a vehicle in gta needed help, it's the walton.

My last incarnation hit the recycle bin at 90k poly lol

Nice job on that wheel. Good to see some restraint on the polys while still creating beautiful work. icon14.gif

For me, texturing s the hard part, best wishes with that.

 

Edit; Your sig, is that php script? Seems you never have the same sig twice........

scratch modeling a car that's allready in game? why?

I was new to modeling when I started with vice, so I began learning by making small changes. I'm trying

some scratch building, but I'm having a little difficulty getting the shape just right. I don't want people to heve to look at the lights and grille to ID it, the shape itself from any angle should make it recognisable. I'm getting there, but not as quickly as I'd like.

nah, it's just a modified rancher, I'm not trying to make something else. (although I might eventually)

@FDA, azupload.com lets you make custom image rotators wink.gif Mine goes through about 20 right now.

 

Here are my rims, I'd say they are done. Except maybe some env added when read for ingame usage... on something... gonna try them out right now biggrin.gif

Something about the front and the rear still doesn't look right.

And I can't figure out for the life of me what it is.

And I have no idea how I got the curves of the car that way, when I looked at it, it was just there biggrin.gif

The hunltey does look good like that though.

 

Here's another wheel I made today, just "finished" it up, I should really retexture a few parts. I'll do that if I put them on a car I guess...

pico: nice wheel mate - I love the ones that have spokes kinda in a stick man config like that... yes I know that description is weird, but it makes sense to me.

Multiply it by four and you got yaself a pretty decent car tris count 8) Nice wheel tho mate, looks like the bit in the middle could be used in that aquaduct scene in Grease. turn.gif

I don't want to turn this into a pissing contest, but if I had 4 times as many polys per wheel then I'm sure it would look a lot better than your 5k poly one...

 

Let's see you try and texture it now...

I've made alot of progress today as you can see. Added lights, smooth modifyer, doors, and reflections. She's currently sitting at 3734 tris.

Az - The BMW is looking great.

 

Picolini - Those wheels you are making are nice. I haent made a new rim in awhile. I need to get around to do some more.

 

RoxRox - The truck is looking nice. I cant wait to rape it with my minitruck stuff tounge.gif.

 

Tchuck - I like it. Looks nice and smooth.

 

Gta_Playa - Not to be rude, But I could make the same exact rim with lower polys/tris and it would still be the same quality.

aye, sorry about the little gap between updates, i had no internet. :I

 

and i'm trying to smooth out the edges so they're not sharp like right now, but the normals are quite screwed, and detaching the hood will screw them even more if i calculate.. i might try something though
