why not? it has a lot more detail to it, see all the studs, the holes in the centre, the TEXTURES. it doesnt have 3d tread. woo f*cking hoo. 3d tread has to be the most pointless thing to model. ever.

Mons rims are smoother than yours, but yours a nice for lower poly ones...but thats a nice car.

 

@Mech, lol. i thought it was something like that. And its funny that he asks people to guess what it is and the file name is Audi TT... but i guessed before i noticed that anyways.

@monitor: something looks kinda odd about your wheel mon tounge.gif maybe the ridges are deeper than usual or a bit chunkier? or maybe im just used to seeing "performance" tyres modeled as such tounge2.gif

 

@lysdexia: now i wouldnt say 3d treads on a car is entirely pointless, it depends on the purpose it was made for tho tounge.gif and it'd have to fit in with the car's overall detail to look "right"

well, i don't say yours is bad, the thing i didn't like is the pretty arrogant thing to say "it's better than yours". if anyone understands how to use polys usefull than its monitor, this just is a render-wheel, an according to the smoothness it IS better than yours (obviously with 18k polys, but thats not the point)

well, 3d tires are fine for rendermodels.. but similar, maybe even better results can be achieved with a very good texture, as proven a few pages back.

bonsai - looks great, 'cept for the light texes.. and tire tread. or are you doing it sa style? either way, good job.

yeah looking good, no normals glitches or anything. If you keep your mesh clean, uniform and flowing, you will find that 3dsmax behaves itself. Dont try and do anything too clever with the mesh though, as it can be a real pain to fix when your 1/2 way done and you realise that you cant model it properly the way you set out to. Remember to weld your vertexes that are overlapping as well.

 

It also helps if you break the parts of the car up and starting a-new on each piece, i.e. when the wing is done, model the bumper or whatever from a whole new object, rather than from the wing. It adds a few more polygons but it means that you arent restricted on the next part by the number of horizontal polygons you can have or whatever, also looks more accurate.

The lights look to rounded compared to the overall blockness of the headlight itself, about the car, it would help you would post a bigger pic, or some sketch about how it should look like if this is what you have modeled so far!

Well apart from the side being completely flat, theres not much to guide you on. And what the hell did you do to the front!?
