bjiz Posted April 27, 2006 Share Posted April 27, 2006 (edited) heheh, oh my, i didn't mean to start this all over again, please quit it guys, this all has been said before, it was just my crappy morning mood that noticed a tricked out skyline and hit on it... i would like to comment on the model itself, i think it looks good, a bit lowpoly (read: good poly use!!), but imagine it moving in a game, it must look perfect says the guy who knows everything about cars.... i don't, i only know what i like and what not, i would LOVE it if it had 1000hp and a normal look to it, i love sleepers i've seen sleepers in a vw beetle or even a citroen 2CV, they were beauties i even heard of a Triumph Standard 10 with a huge jaguar engine in it made in the 60's, so there's nothing new about tuning cars....I like a bit of tuning with a huge sense of humor, don't take it all to seriously Anyways the car im gonna be modelling for the competition wil beee....French. renault 5 GT? .59 Reverse Posted April 27, 2006 Share Posted April 27, 2006 (edited) first off, thanks to everyone who had decent comments.. positive AND negative. i remember a thread over at endo's that talked about ricers and tuners.. and ricers fight as hard as they can to gain approval and not be called ricers... i'm not a ricer.. but i'm not going to fight and explain why.. i'm going to have a good time doing what i do for fun. bleh, another ricer oh wel, it's your car, so it's your choice, looks like a good model anyway, polycount? looks mid judging the wheelarches, i guess ~ 1000/1500 for the body? (without the ironboards) i got your pm, so no offense taken.. but it's not riced at all.. the aeroparts are functional. the only thing there that's JUST to be pretty is the lexan diffuser not shown in the picture.. and it's also fairly functional. the body's chamfered all over i think it's about 4-5k on the body.. i'm just not the type to use really rounded arches.. i'm still set in my ways for the moment. Is it based off a real car? remind me of 'top secret' . also, you cant make that car withought modeling the beauty engine it packs, come on man what were you thinking it's not really based on anything.. there's some MCR, a little Z-tune, a little Carbon R, a little Kagotani.. a little Nagisa, a splash of Midori and even a bit of Nismo GT-R GT. the TS resemblance is probably from the gold paint and kinda yellow headlights.. i just chose the gold as a color on a whim.. the car's normally pink (sakura) with pink (sakura) LE37s.. next time i see you online, i'll link you to the real paint, and show you the engine. and you know i have the engine modeled.. i'm almost as much of an RB freak as you and lys are. it's got a big high-mount turbo, ext. wastegate, surgetank, and all that good stuff.. but i think i need to re-think my radiator and intercooler layout.. i might have to do a V-mount like i have in my GDB V9.. but that's only if space allows. i wonder what kind of trouble i'll get for posting that one.. The front (mainly the headlights) look like a Ford 500 but the back picture makes me think it's a Mercedes. carbon.. ricer.. nah.. lamborghinis are big and carbon loaded.. so are enzos.. and GT Racing cars and LM prototypes.. they're all rice.. check. large carbon rear wing.. ricer.. nah.. racing wings on racing cars.. all racecars are rice.. check. large exhaust pipes big enough for a mack truck at a puny 4 inches. mack trucks are rice.. check. turbocharged vehicles with high boost like large exhausts so they can move gases easily.. you know.. that's why the mack trucks have them. as you increase the capacity of an engine to move air, you need to give it somewhere to go.. hence a large exhaust.. when's the last time you saw a drag camaro with a 1-inch pea-shooter from a Honda Civic 1.5DX? exactly. ricers imitate tuning. all visual modifications or modifications you can see arent always rice. do you see vinyls? do you see neons? do you see 20" spinners? no. those are 18"s. just like the stock car has. and the car's a UCF30 Celsior.. oops.. a Lexus LS430.. since knowing anything about anything japanese is a ricer crime punishable by death. I'm not often that keen on your work, but this, I like. thanks, that means a lot coming from you.. comments from people who arent generally interested in my stuff are the ones that are most valuable.. as for the accuracy, i'm getting better, but i'm still missing a bit of stuff.. my bonnet/grille line is wrong, my headlights are wrong over there where the winker is, and i'm missing a chamfer across the back of the car right above the rear bumper line.. i've probably got some other stuff i dont know about wrong.. but thanks all the same. i guess i shouldve posted the specs or that engine, eh? then again.. that would just make people like kitteh who cant read even more pissed.. this was entertaining.. i'll have to remember to post more of my tuned cars rice here in the future.. especially the exotics.. Initially modeled in Maya, then half way I export it to Softimage. so the render is from softimage. I am practially illiterate of Max. More Chargers! Still tweaking...
