Mon's right, I posed a late eighties version - probably an '88 as 92F pointed out. Mine is indeed the GTE, but the '92 GTE looked different too. However the headlight thing does still apply. There's one a few roads away from me, I'll see if I can get some pics in a bit.

Well iv only been back off holiday for a few days now so not much to update.

 

Stefaan:

Iv been meaning to remake the front bumper for months now and after your reminder i did.

I did have the the curve on the headlights before but it was a little to small so iv sorted that.

And the the crease is their on the side it just dont show up from all angles. The curves on the

doors are just chamfered edges and my shamfers are a little to small at the mo but i cant be

assed to fix that just yet.

Just to let you all no the poly count is over 800k polies now.

And Stefaan iv already fixed that tiny bump on the front vent

but i never got round to re rendering the image.

Basically its my Defender, but the roofs been chopped, along with the doors and a few other things.

 

Everything will be 3d, from the engine to the winch, but ill be keeping it low-ish on the poly count.

 

btw is there any tutorials on how to make 3d tread for a wheel?

Heres a conversion/edit.. the original model is by GG, so i think its ok to show here (right? Since hes not around anymore...) and it was converted by JGEM, and i got permission to use it from him... if theres problems with this, feel free to remove it... but here goes...

 

Its a C6 Corvette kart... a little work left, i'd say its about 70% done...its fun as hell to drive...

Dont use 3d threads. It will save you a lot of rendertime to keep them non-3d with a really really good texture.

made by Ribin, a russian car modeler. He NORMALLY doesnt use 3d threads, dont know if the cobra has them 3d - i cant tell from the lowres pic.

I think the wheels would have looked alot better if he had of either made the tread the same colour as the whole tyre, or if he made it 3D.

i think the tires actually look better than the carpaint. It IS very good, but the shiney bits have a strange kinda glow around them wich doens't look...perfect (or through a very greasy lens)

It is infact very well thought out.

 

Cars photographed in that scenario (open desert, bright sun etc) do give off this glow effect to the camera. I can't say for the naked eye, as I've never been out of the UK, bar to go to France... which should be a desert in my opinion

(Typical Japan/American race/drift wheels on a Integrale don´t fit)

It's a matter of taste then. They fit nicely to that Lancia methinks. Nice modeling sofar also
