Though officially the gangs are not to have any real connection with true-to-life street gangs, it is generally believed the Ballas are the "Crips" of the Los Santos gang scene; the Grove Street Families the "Bloods." Some Crips sets in Los Angeles have been known to wear purple; and some Bloods sets have been known to wear green. The gangs I can think in my mind right this moment is: Rollin' 60's 8-balls Bloods Crips Black Gangster Disciple People Nation Folk Nation Latin Kings Vice Lords Yeaaaaaaah, and Varrio's means Neighbourhood in "Gang Terminology", and Mad Dog (Madd Dogg) is Hard stare in "Gang Terminology" also. I think it is spelled Barrio Either way works since it's the same sound in spanish... In the United States barrio can also refer to the geographical "turf" claimed by a Latino gang; this usage is generally limited to the Chicano gangs of California. And there was an Inglewood Crips gang in the early 90s but then again, there was also a Compton Crips.. and Ganton, which is GSF hood, is problely named after Compton, and Idlewood after Inglewood...
