B Rob
I have no proof but, I believe he takes steroids. From his rookie year till now hes grown a ton. I think its impossible to grow that damn much. He takes steroids. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/235894-official-mlb-chat/?do=findComment&comment=3622557 Share on other sites

gta_player5
IMHO, you have to be naive if you think Bonds didn't take steroids. Nobody hits 73 homeruns when they're 38 years of age. Nobody... D Jones
Babe Ruth nailed a lot of homers in his late 30's (very late). And so I suppose he took steroids too? Just because he's old doesn't enable his skills at hitting homers. B Rob
The only proof they have on Bonds at the moment is books and the word of other players saying that Bonds Trainer gave him steroids. D Jones
Yet, still no proof. I believe he has asked numerous times for a drug test. If the guy is taking steroids my bad, but until then, hit away Barry. B Rob
Barry Bonds is really mean as well. Maybe more people would believe him if he didn't act like a total ass everytime hes on camera. I know that interviewers ask some dumb questions sometimes but, you gotta let it go sometimes. Mainland Marauder
Yep, sportswriters are really asswipes. You know who's climbing his way up my "I don't like him" list? Alfonso Soriano. First all the whining and foot-shuffling about being moved to the outfield, and last night he gets taken out of the Nationals' game for not running out a popup. Frank Robinson said it was for that and not being hit in the helmet with a pitch earlier in the game. I'm glad the proposed trade between the Astros and Rangers last year that would have sent Brandon Backe and Chris Burke (both class acts who I've met personally) for Soriano got shot down. D Jones
Uh, didn't Jason Giambi, Rafael Palmeiro and Mark Mcguire already get busted for 'roids? And yes, if I was Barry Bonds, I'd be an asshole. He kinda acted like a baby, "I don't care what people think!" *crys* You.....you didn't get it. Also, Barry Bonds has never been media friendly. Even before he took steroids, even before his health issues. And I can't believe how you even have the slightest doubt he took steroids. All the players accused of it, most likely did it. So many different sources point to it, it is kind of hard to dispute it. Sometimes, you can be guilty without concrete proof provided. I don't believe Bonds took steroids until proven, can't change a opinion. Barry Bonds never been media friendly because they ask stupid ass questions. He can be media friendly at times, but not usually. Alex Rodriguez is pretty fruity, and being around Jeter can't help much, I'm sure. May not be able to prove it, or ever know for sure, but the guys at The Dugout @ www.progressiveboink.com sure make very funny jokes about his masculinity and their tight relationship on the left side of the infield. And also, the media asks Barry Bonds the same questions as everyone else. When a player is doing well, they want to know why. When a player is slumping, they want to know why. Most players are better at talking to, manipulating, or ignoring the media. He goes about it the wrong way, hence them 'going after' him. The man took steroids. Look at him... Unless he has figured out how to magically double his body mass over a couple years. That would be amazing. Mainland Marauder
It's poignant that Bonds A) holds the single-season homer record, B) is about to overtake Babe Ruth and possibly Hank Aaron for the all-time lead C) has already been linked to BALCO and D) is dodging investigation in every way he can, even to the point of sitting out all last season. McGwire is out of baseball and there wasn't a policy in place when he was there. If 1998 was happening right now, he would be getting investigated. Palmeiro is out of baseball now and has already been caught. Giambi has been caught. This has nothing to do with race. Flaxseed oil, my ass. darthYENIK
Yesterday's Angels vs Mariners game is proof that they are letting go some great players. Jarrod Washburn, a former angel traded in the offseason, shut them down. Well not completely, the angels managed 4 runs with homers from Tim Salmon (really psyched that he's knocking them out), and Orlando Cabrera. Mainland Marauder
Dunn is one Texas-strong son of a bitch. One of the few players that I'd take his sub-.240 average and 100+ K's a year in exchange for the power. He's made off-the-cuff comments that he'd like to play in Houston (he's from nearby New Caney, TX), and I think it's a possibility he'd sign as a free agent once his contract runs out after next season. The concept of him swinging that stick in that ballpark down there is quite enticing. It's a pull-hitter's paradise and as such it's Adam Dunn's paradise. It just sucks he jacks 'em out as a Red right now. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/235894-official-mlb-chat/?do=findComment&comment=3626011 Share on other sites

Mainland Marauder
Well the Reds hit pretty well but they have no pitching. Also If they played with a little heart and tried on defense they'd probably be pretty good. That's been Cincy's problem for a good while now, and it's been proven you need pitching to win consistently. Aaron Harang is a pretty decent pitcher. As a No. 3 or so starter, that is. Bronson Arroyo was a pretty good pickup and the Reds rid themselves 100+ Wily Mo Pena K's and his sickly OBA in the process, but Arroyo's not MLB ace-quality. Cincy hasn't had a legit ace in years. Tom Browning circa 1988, or pre-Tommy John surgery Jose Rijo perhaps. B Rob
Yeah, maybe if they do decent this year and compete a little bit they'll take 3rd in the tough NL Central. After that maybe next season a ace will come to thier club. No ace is going to go to a club that dosen't win. TheSpillCanvas
No team that plays their home games at the Great American Ballpark can have good pitching. They might as well play in Idaho, with as many taters as that place serves up. Mainland Marauder
Good point. It's not as bad as Coors though. I'd just as soon have Cincy pitcher-less. For the bandbox that Minute Maid Park is supposed to be, the Astros only have four homers so far (Lance Berkman and Preston Wilson each with two). Sure, there are cheap homers down the lines but it evens out with balls hit to straightaway center that would be gone in any other ballpark being a long out in Houston. 'Stros aren't hitting all that well but are off to a 3-1 start. Might as well forget about Clemens, go with what they've got for now and maybe pick up a pitcher during the course of the season. Houston might surprise again this year if the bats wake up. darthYENIK
The Angels beat the Yankees last night 4-1. What a great opening day for Angel stadium. They are going at it again tonight.
