Nice job by the Cardinals, my prediction was once again proven to be inccorect, but hey, no money was on my prediction of Cards in 6, so that's a plus! lol.gif I'm going to turn on the press conference now so I can find out who the MVP of the series is going to be.

Edit:

David Eckstein is the 2006 World Series MVP.

Good job Cardinals. After being in the World Series 4 straight years you finally get 1. I wanted Rolen to be MVP but oh well.

We were in the WS in 2004. We were in the NLCS for the past three years.

But yeah, St. Louis is a different f*cking city right now. Everyone is ecstatic beyond belief. No one is being a jerk.

I'm kinda scared.

I say they win it in 5.  Just so I can laugh at the fact that the only game the cardinals lost, was the one that Jeff Weaver pitched.

Weaver did do a decent job in Game Two, though. I mean, he only gave up three runs. If Kenny Rogers hadn't been brilliant/had been ejected, then the Cards would've swept.

Right now, J-Weav is in line to get the W.

Yeah, he was good tonight, only one earned run, and pitched 8 innings. I applaud him. I still hold him partially responsible for the Angels' crappy first half of the season.

But I was rooting for the Cardinals, since a Eckstein, Spezio, and even Weaver are former Angels. Eckstein and Spezio being key players in the Angels' 2002 world championship.

Congratulations St. Louis.

The scary part about that, is he wants to go to a LA area AL team. God I hope the Angels don't take him. He's gone downhill after he stopped taking the roids. I guarantee you, that stadium will boo every time he would be up, since half the Angels' fans are also Dodgers fans.

I don't see any team that is willing to pay him the type of money he demands. He isn't an impact player anymore, they do pitch to him. Also anywhere outside of San Francisco will boo him, he is not liked by many people in baseball or by fans. He is a compiler, he will play until he breaks Hank Aaron's record. He has played since 1986, this was his 20th season, and he is coming up on Aaron, he is a compiler. I hate him, both as a person (lol) and as a player. He cheats, lies, lies some more, is not liked, is not good with the media, and I hate compilers. So yea, I hate Barry Bonds. lol

Oakland has said several times they wouldn't mind taking on the money and the drama to have Bonds play for them. They're just across the bay from San Fran so they're used to the hype, and now that they lost the Big Hurt to Toronto they could use a heavy bat to play DH for them. I've always thought Bonds would excel in the AL where he could save his knees and not play defense.

So Soriano's a Cub. WTF. I think the Cubs are just going for broke now. They might as well shell out major cash and go for the gold, because their philosophy about building for the future has continuall failed in past years. And baseball does well when the Cubs play well, so it will be good for the league if Chicago can pull together a competitive season. Soriano is a great help to their lineup. Chicago's outfield hit a combined 51 HR last season, and Soriano hit 46 all by himself, many of which came from Washington's home park RFK which is f*cking MASSIVE and hard to crush balls in. Quite impressive. Now if he can just learn to take a walk now and then he will be an exemplary 5 tool player.

I'm still waiting for my Astros to pull out a blockbuster deal....and they've yet to deliver. No word until then. sad.gif

Still holding my breath on Carlos Lee, but not counting on it happening because of the Soriano contract and I don't expect the Astros to offer more cash for Lee than their best player in Lance Berkman (I think he's getting 14.5 mil/year). One more reason for me to hate the Cubs. And I've also read from somewhere that the Orioles (the dumbest and one of the worst franchises in all of baseball) may be one of the frontrunners to sign Lee.

There's a pretty good possibility that we Astros fans will have to endure another year of shutouts and a .250 team batting average.

Today it was said that Baltimore and Houston are in a bidding war for Carlos Lee. If it came down to it, he would probably choose us over the Orioles because he has a ranch in Texas and has said he'd like to play here.

Juan Pierre was signed by the Dodgers for 5yrs/$45mil. $9mil a year for an average fielder with only a .300 OBP? Give me a break. Los Angeles got f*cking raped.

The Angels appear to have signed Gary Matthews Jr. to a 5 year, $50 million deal.  I recognize that this is a new market, that the teams have tons of money, that free agents are getting paid more than they would've been last year.  But I'm sorry, this is completely ridiculous.

I knew he'd be overpaid. He has one good year and suddenly he has money just hurled at him.

Reports say that Carlos Lee has agreed to sign a six-year contract with the Astros. There is some speculation that it will be worth around $100 million. Now this should pay immediate dividends, but the length of the contract better not bite us in the ass in the long run.

At least that's some good news for me after watching the Longhorns lose to the Aggies at home. It's gonna be one gloomy atmosphere once I get back to campus on Sunday. suicidal.gif
