I downloaded a couple of neat looking cars from http://spc.gta.com.ua/index.htm, and while reading the read mes, I did exactly what they said, but when it came time to replacing content in the default.ide and carcols.dat, I could not save what I just changed. nickman912 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Share Posted February 26, 2006 Im sorry. I dont know how this forum works yet, but Ill remember now. And thank you, the uncheck read only helped greatly. But yet I have one porblem, one I cant find an answer to on the forum. I got a IMG tool and I cannot replace the filenames in the IMG file. I cant replace them because their too big so when I try to delete them i get a pop up that says "Dir file error! It might be in use..exiting...". WTF is up with that! How do I get around that? Click delete, and then click add. Ok, I definately dont have the game running, but I get that error message when i try to delete something. I have not replaced anything. I know I have to delete the IMG register if the replacement file is larger than the origonal. Every time I try to delete something I get the "Dir file error! It might be in use..exiting...". kingvercetti Posted March 2, 2006 Share Posted March 2, 2006 When you unchecked read only and clicked apply, did you choose to affect all folders and subfolders, or just the main VC one?
