Bartleby Posted February 26, 2006 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Personally, I prefer Vice City, GTA3, and then San An. The main reason I don't dig San Andreas is that Carl Johnson seems a tool. Up until he works to free his brother from prison, it's hard to imagine what drives him (i.e. the Catalina missions). That, and all he ever seems to do is whine all the time; at least Tommy V was a badass out for personal gain, and Fido/Claude was out to make a living. San Andreas can have the huge map, the turf wars, the gambling, and the vehicle schools, but I reckon the storyline had too many shady bits and small holes. Just my two cents anyway. As Bartleby touched on, if you give all three the same technologies, the same features and additions (swimming, gang wars, recruiting homies, etc.), Vice City will win hands down. The atmosphere in VC did it for me, I reckon. 'tis obviously a matter of opinion though. Whether it be fan-boys or those with educated, justified opinions, there's always been disagreements. PS: You got your little inequation mixed up. You're saying VC is greater than GTA3 which is greater than SA, which is not what you're intending. SA>GTA3>VC is what you want. Or VC<GTA3<SA. k-highway Posted February 26, 2006 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Well put Fuzz and Bartles. Vice is indeed a very good game. For me, it isn't the map that makes a GTA game great. It's actually how the character is, the storyline... GTA3 was a real classic. There ain't no comparing GTA3 or VC to SA. I simply didn't like SA at all.
