Demarest
My PC is running Win2k with SP3 installed. I have two DVD burners, a Lite-On LDW-851S and a Pioneer DVR-109. Adaptec's ASPIChk says my ASPI is up to date as of September 2005. However, CDRWin 4.0A says there are no recorders in my system even though it sees both as readers in my system. The problem is that I've used CDRWin for years, including with this hardware. So I'm stumped as to what to do. I'll be checking into a few things as I have time, but thought posting here, maybe somebody had an idea. If I've left anything crucial out, let me know. Thanks for your time. [EDIT] Almost forgot to mention that Audio Catalyst (ripping software) and Nero (burning software) both work fine, so I doubt it's an ASPI issue, especially considering I don't think I've changed anything since last time I used CDRWin [EDIT2] Also wanted to add that nobody's allowed to spend too much time on this unles they really want to. I only used CDRWin for bin/cue's and apparently Nero 6 does that already. So at this point, this topic is just a "just in case" in case whatever's causing it might bite me in the ass later on. Bond996
What ASPI does it say you're running? I'm pretty sure Nero loads its own when it starts, and 6 does do a nice job with bins/cues. But it also offers its stack to other programs, and Audio Catalyst might use that, while CDRWin looks for the Adaptec Stack (notoriously unreliable on some systems)
Demarest
Not sure. Does this help? Looks like it would be Adaptec to me by the numbering system.
Waste
Personally, I'd say you are better off with Nero. Never did like CDRWin for some reason. It doesn't sound like it's a problem with ASPI, sounds more like CDRWin just being picky.
