dbrown486
There's supposed to be a software emulator of the Pixel shader but everything I read about it says it's so slow and buggy it's not worth bothering with. Your best bet is just to get a new video card. Pixel shading capability is pretty much a gaming standard now so you may as well upgrade. I had to in order to play Thief 3 and it was worth it. You can get an inexpensive ATI card with pixel shading for under $150 so it's no big deal. Edited February 26, 2006 by dbrown486
threesixmafia
they are like 90 bucks! san andreas wont run bad if you dont have one will it? i hope thats its just a graphical luxury, and not a necesity for being able to play this game... Resend Validation E-mail
Yea, I need 2.0 also. All I have is 1.1.... And I checked my video card drivers, and I have the latest one, so I dunno. Hopefully SA will run fine without pixel shader 2.
t0nedude
PS 2.0 is not a recommended requirement for SA. The recommended is a "geforce 4" or better. The GF4 ti's only support PS 1.1, and not PS 2.0. My friend even has SA running on a GF4 MX, which has no PS support whatsoever. If I am to help what card do you have? Tony.

t0nedude
i need a 2.0 to. my video card is a radeon 9200 SE. Depending on the specs of the rest of your machine, you should have no problem running SA on Low or Medium. And if you had bothered to read the first part of my post you would have realised that despite what srtest.com think is recommended for SA, they are in fact full of S***. To put that in more eloquent terms: PS 2.0 has never been a recommended requirement to play SA, at least by the developers. Tony.

Should have no problems there.....and they're getting very cheap now too. Tony.
