Racer__X
Hey, So I got Vice City for PC yesterday. Thought I'd install some mods. I got VCMM, installed D-Magics wheel mod, and some cars (2F2F Eclipse, Skyline, Mustang, Piaggio NRG, and some more). Now I got this problem. All the mods have no color. The cars and bikes turn up all in white with no color at all. Some with original rims, some with customs. I searched the web for some solutions but couldn't find anything (yes, also searched this site...). Does anyone know what I can do about this prob? Thanks in advance Jean Paul Edited February 25, 2006 by Racer__X
Justin
Yep. Don't use the mods. Simple as. More appropriate advice: it's likely that one (or more) of the mods you've installed is corrupt, and is making everything else stuff up. Uninstall the mods and then re-install one at a time, firing up Vice City after each install. Once the cars stay white, you know which mod is the faulty one. Then you can just not use it. Racer__X
Okidokie, will do UPDATE: I got a basic Skyline R-33 to work. It had the same colors as any other car. Looks to me that every car with a custom color (or paintjob) will just show up as a white car. Tried the 2 Fast 2 Furious Skyline R-34, showed up all white. Now, that car does have a custom paintjob. I'm gonna try some more car's now. Edited February 24, 2006 by Racer__X

Racer__X
It's obviously not the mods. Since I tried different ones form different authors, and different sites. Also tried re-installing the game. Also tried installing mods one at a time. Came up with nothing good... Don't know what the problem is. All you do is put the mod in that folder VCM in VCMM. Then install it with VCMM. And it should work. Right? I can drive the cars and all that, just with no color at all... I think it's a problem with D-Magics thingy, I just installed a Nissan Silvia S15, but it got the original rims that where on the car I replaced. Maybe D-Magics mod doesn't only allow wheels, but also paintjobs? Edited February 24, 2006 by Racer__X
Snow Racer
do you know what TXD means? well... read some tutorials on adding cars to the game but buy Grand Turismo...
Racer__X
I know what it means About one fourth of my cars aren't VCM's. Used a little program called GTA Mod Installer to install them, works fine. Except for the colors... Yes, I already own Gran Turismo. All of them. Knife
Chances are, you have a GFX card that doesn't support DXT compressed textures. Go to you Vice city directory and look in the models folder. If there is a file called txd.img and another file txd.dir then delete them both and start the game. You will need to do that every time you install a new mod.

nissan_shift
Thanks KNIFE, I was having problems with modded cars not "looking" right. The tail lights and interior had no color. Retraining my grafix card fixed this. Thanks so much!!!
