Joehadenuf
I Purchased GTA:SA when it first arrived in stores, It ran fine all the way up until the Battlefield 2 demo came out. I had to upgrade my drivers to play BF2, and when I did, GTA:SA stopped working, when I switched back to the previous drivers, GTA would work again, but then BF2 would not. over time I chose to play more BF2, so as a result, I uninstalled GTA. Today I decided reinstall GTA, and I face the same issue as before. For the last few months, I have been running Omega drivers on my 6800GT, and just like before, when I click on the icon (or any other means of launching) all that happens is, I get an hourglass for several moments, I hear my DVD drive spin, and occasionally I'll have a spinning DVD icon appear over my pointer, but it loads nothing, my screen doesn't even flicker. So, I uninstalled my Omega drivers and replaced them with what I presume to be the latest "official" Nvidia drivers. Those too failed to launch GTA, with the same symptoms as before. I don't know what drivers to get, I don't even know if it really is the drivers causing the problem or not, but never the less, I can no longer load GTA:SA on my computer. The DVD-Rom is clean and functions fine on the auto-run, Any help will be greatly appreciated. lolo603
there's a file located in "C:\Documents and Settings\<your name>\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files" called "gta_sa.set". which holds all the system info and game options. if u have upgraded hardware or their drivers, u should manually delete "gta_sa.set", and let the game to rebuild that file when u run the game again.
