configuration settings file

i'm wondering if anyone knows about the configurations setting file.can changing this speed up the framerate?or in what ways does changing this affect the game?thanks

That file is basically just for in game settings such as control scheme, audio visual options etc. I dont think it has anything to do with framerate. I could be wrong but if you really want a more clear answer, I would reccomend PM'ing Pdescobar.

If you want to get the best framerate then do the following:

Set the Resolution down to 640*48032 or 16bit.

Turn off Mip Mapping.

Set Draw Distance lower.

Turn Visual Effects down to Low.

Turn Anti Aliasing Off.

Not sure if thats what you ment by "configuration file".

the file is in local disk c:(for me anyway).in program files.i was reading a walkthrough on another forum and it said you can go in there and set the drag (i think next to vehicles)from 12 to 8 and it helped the speed to catch up in freefall.it also has some lighting files there.i was wondering about those.

I gather your talking about the stream.ini file? From what I understand changing the data really hasn't been proven as being something that improves framerate or has any effect on the games performance.
