gta_player5 Posted February 23, 2006 Share Posted February 23, 2006 I was just playing SA, when this happened. I was flying in a dodo to fort carson and I was flying at a decent altitude. So when I reach the area of Fort Carson I hop out of my Dodo, still at a good height, and I dive down with my parachute on. So then I pull my parachute and it doesn't work. Like I pressed the button that opens the chute and CJ did the motions when you use it, how you hold on to the strings, but it didn't open and I died. nada Posted February 23, 2006 Share Posted February 23, 2006 What are you playing on? I had this happen to me once on the PS/2. Just the once tho...I was mashing the O button and it wouldn't open. I'd bail out way up in the sky and push the button and Cj would do the motions, but no 'chute. He just looked like a retard falling from the sky at god knows what speed, looking like he's holding on to a parachute but with no actual 'chute deployed. Ottae Posted February 23, 2006 Share Posted February 23, 2006 Yeah it's a glitch, happens 40% of the time on PC, quite annoying really. CJ opens the parachute but stays rigid and you can't move him. There is also the glitch on PS2 where you don't open your parachute and land in water and you're stuck in the diving position, I did it while demonstrating another glitch, I'll just find the video... MI7 Posted February 23, 2006 Share Posted February 23, 2006 The actual cause of the glitch seems to be if you are already carrying a parachute upon entering the plane, and then getting another one when you jump out of the plane (after completing pilot school). That one can happen on land too, and CJ is stuck with one toe on the ground and other limbs splayed out. He can pivot on the toe and change weapons, but has to press shoot to get out of it. Viewing ErrorsThe video does not play, or audio plays with no video. * Make sure that you have the latest Windows Media player and the latest Quicktime player installed. * Make sure that you give the video enough time to load, it may take a few minutes. * If the video still does not play, the video may be encoded with DIVX or another custom codec. * Mac users must use the latest OSX, Internet Explorer, and install all the latest players. Even then some of the Windows media may not work on your Mac. The Flash animation does not play. * Make sure that you have the latest Flash player installed. * Make sure that you give the media enough time to load, it may take a few minutes.
