t0nedude
My specs (on this old piece of trash) are in general about twice as good as yours. I had to give up playing GTA San Andreas on my PC (there went $50 ) because I had to play it in the absolute lowest possible settings. As if low settings weren't bad enough, my computer had a three-second lag on the game as well! That made it nearly impossible to shoot, drive, and even run in the game. I hate to say it, but I don't think San Andreas is going to run very well on your system. I currently have an AMD Athlon 2600+, 512mb DDR, and a GeForce 4 MX (building a new PC in a week though ) - and those specs play the game bad (at least for me), even with San Andreas being the only thing open. My advice: save yourself $50 and buy it later when you have a new computer, or buy it now and get a new computer at the same time. Just my thoughts though, best of luck. There's your problem: the Geforce 4 MX, the rest of your specs are easily up to par, but the graphics card sucks balls. Period. A PC is only as good as it's weakest link. For a small fee you can just upgrade it and get much better performance, without having to upgrade your whole system. Of course make sure you maintain your system well by stopping all unneccessary tsr's and virus checkers etc before playing any game. IRT OP: the bottom two options are much better than the first, although getting something a bit better than even those would be advisable. Tony.
