ethsith
im really curious as to wat is being done right now, also is there any chance that we will see a version released before summer June/July
Serafim
I'm curious about it too, but that's next to the end (over than 75% is next, lol) like I see, don't know. See if they updated the percentage in site.
Shizz
The percentage can't be accurate, some things take longer than expected.. 30% can take three weeks, but it can also take 6 months..
arcooke
We all hope it's soon.. I check these forums at least twice a day hoping to read some news about the project. It would be nice to at least hear a very rough estimate on how long before a release. A few weeks? A couple months? A year? Who knows. I guess we just have to sit and wait patiently. Shizz
Well, it'll not be a few weeks, that's for sure
kyeman
We haven't been updating the blog or anything because most of the stuff we've been working on is technical. Since the blog audience consists mainly of gamers, not game programmers, we only post updates we think will interest the majority of people. Edit: As for a release time, I'd certainly hope it's ready within the next month. Although the project was officially started 10 months ago, 90% of the work has been done in the last 2 months. We don't know how long it'll take to fix any problems that might come up, but I'm not going to try and be too much of a perfectionist for the first release. Little things can always be fixed in later releases. Edited February 22, 2006 by kyeman
cdahmedeh
That is great if its getting to be released in the next month. Its seems like its going to be the best multiplayer mod for San Andreas. Great work guys, your videos look very promosing. Keep up the good work. I was just reluctant to ask because I know you guys are sick of hearing people ask when it's coming out. I'm a programmer (windows based games and web) and a gamer actually.. I do just about everything computer-wise. I'd personally like hearing about the techy stuff. Anyway .. good to hear the release is actually in the near future. Statico
Indeed, small bugs are expected, that's why it's always a beta version release.

arcooke
I still say MTA has you guys beat in the long run, but will see. You have no authority to compare the two games seeing as how this hasn't been released yet..
RainingAcid
I can do what I want, boy. YOU have no authority to tell me what I can and can't do. I basic my statements on the videos. It's just an opinion. Get over it I still support SA-MP and hope it's good. However, I've been playing MTA since MTA:VC v0.3. Mind others opinions. That's all I my statement was, and opinion. kyeman
Well, RainingAcid, the simple fact is, up until now no team has demonstrated that they can do the sort of sync that we have. It may not be publicly released yet, but people have been playing it during testing and we haven't hidden anything in the videos. The bugs that we're trying to solve right now are actually visible in the videos. MTA's race mod is very poorly synced in terms of translational movement, and I cannot get more than 15 fps with my middle range video card. If they don't solve these problems at some point MTA isn't going to be very fun to play. How are you meant to do a passenger driveby from a vehicle which is warping backwards and forwards? You've been playing MTA:VC since 0.3? Good for you. I've been playing it since 0.1, joined MTA development after the release of 0.2, wrote an animation syncing system for 0.3 that wasn't accepted because "it was lame to have anim packets," wrote the backwheel fix in 0.3 which helped smooth out the vehicle movement. If you love MTA, good for you. Go play it and quit bothering us.
arcooke
I never once told you what or what not to do, boy (don't try to belittle me like that please, I'm 25 years old). These are completely different types of mods. There's no reason to be comparing the two, and SA-MP isn't even out yet.. they haven't even shown hardly any race footage from the racing gamemode. I'm just saying it's not possible to assume one is going to be better than the other. Doing so is just downright rude to the team developing SA-MP. Anyway, back on topic. RainingAcid
Edit: Fine. I'll stop. No need to fight. I'm in a bad mood anyway. The only I'd like to know what's left. I hate being left in the dark. However, this is a good thing. MTA had too much hype. That's was caused some people to bitch. There aren't a lot of people talking about this, so I just assume.....
