scabo19
Everytime i start up my pc i get this message saying "processor fan not detected".Now I'm no computer genius but i suppose something is wrong with the processor fan and that doesn't sound too safe.Do I have to replace it or can i fix it myself? Bond996
If your computer has monitoring utilities, check the processor fans speed, and the temp of your processor to see if it is running. Or open your case, turn on your computer, and see if its spinning.
Dup
The fan on your CPU might not have a fan speed sensor. I have an Asus A8V Deluxe and my CPU fan is a Panaflo 120mm x 35mm which has no fan speed sensor. The fan visably works but my mobo cannot detect this and says "CPU Fan Failed" through my speakers. Open up the case and see how its spinning and check for the yellow lead from the fan.
Wolf68k
Open the case. Look for a fan on a big heatsink. Try to start up computer. Does the fan spin?
riccbhard
My guesses are: 1.) The fan is shot 2.) The fan is not connected or 3.) The fan has stopped running and set off the alarm.
C Bear
I just set up my new PC (everything new but HD/optical drives), and the cpu fan I have has a three pin connector, but the motherboard has a four pin connector. The motherboard does support the 3 pin fan, but you have to change a jumper) Could that be the problem? Is it a new PC that has had this problem from the beginning, or did it just start happening out of nowhere?
