|Zephyr|
Got a new graphics card, Nvidia 6600GT AGP 8X. When I put the card in the settings in the bios seem to go back to 'factory standards'. I'm using the onboard atm, just wondering how you turn the onboard off? There is no option just to disable onboard video or anything.
GTA3Freak-2001
When you changed the bios did you make sure to press "save and exit"?
Cran.
Well. When I put in a fx5200 for a friend, his onboard video automaticly disabled when I put it in. Maybe just see what happends when you just plug it into the 6600GT and see if it works fine?
GTA3Rockstar
When on the desktop for XP, right click on my computer, go to properties and then the hardware tab... Then click Device manager and click Display Adaptars and disable your graphic card... Mine is Intel Graphics Controller, and then you should be set to plug in you monitor to the new video card... Display adapter is determined after POST, pre OS. You'll need to go into your BIOS and turn off the onboard. It should be in a menu called Integrated Peripherals or something like that. When finished, tell it to save. Then power off your machine. Now hook up the monitor to your AGP card and you should be good to go.
millermagic
Varies from bios manufacturer to bios manufacturer probably. Mine did it automatically.
