gta_playa
I copied my ps2 version of sanan on to my pc to mod it, and put it on a dvd-rw, but then I thought about playing it on pc. Is this possible with an emulator or something or if there is just a few files that are on the pc version, could someone post a link to somewere were I can download them? And I'm having trouble with the txd files.
SeaNorris.
No we don't have links, either buy it on PC or don't use it at all, the PC and PS2 versions are alot different.
DexX
if you want to play SA on the pc, you need the pc version of the game.
Statico
Emulators are illegal in most cases, I'm not sure exactly how things are if you've bought the game, but anyway, this board doesn't support it.
jarjar
Short answer, no. Long answer; if you are a professional programmer and you have a legally copy of the game then it isn't that hard. But it takes a lot of programming to get the computer to notice the game and play it like it does for the PC version. This is what Rockstar does, but it takes a lot experiance with programming and alot of time and effort to do. Not worth the time, just guy it. Also being this most of the code you would be working with (because your not the origanal author) would be hex. I am not sure if this is illegal or not, but it defenitly wouldn't be recommended. it may also be clasiffied as hacking...which is illegal. Depening on the type though i guess. BTW: If i am wrong, forgive me. This is just what i know in the subject. If this is impossible. Sorry....just my comment.
gta_playa
But if I mod it and then save it on to a dvd-rw, wouldn't that be the same as modding the pc version?
RainingAcid
Not really. You're better off getting a PC version. In which you can check ebay for v1.0.
QJimbo
Well for a start Emulation is NOT illegal, in the PS2's case it's only illegal if you use the PS2's bios files without owning a PS2. One of the most prominant emulators around is PCSX2, avaliable here: http://www.pcsx2.net/ . But I doubt you'll have much luck getting it working. I own the PC version, but I think it'd be interesting to try and port some stuff from the PS2 version like the moon phases and cars getting clean/dirty. I wonder how possible that is. gta_playa
damn, I can't find one that works, why can't they be simple to use like the nes emus? Just open the emulator, go to file, open rom and play the game? While im at it is there any way to convert a vc car to gta3?
DexX
I own the PC version, but I think it'd be interesting to try and port some stuff from the PS2 version like the moon phases and cars getting clean/dirty. I wonder how possible that is. no idea why they removed the moon phases, but i do miss them cars get clean/dirty with the 1.01 patch though. damn, I can't find one that works, why can't they be simple to use like the nes emus? Just open the emulator, go to file, open rom and play the game? Because it doesn't work that way. ideally it would play the disc right from your drive (damned if im making an ISO of every game i want to emulate) and have an option to auto-boot. PSX emulators are pretty simple to use, ps2 ones shouldnt be much harder. then again, ps2 emulators are still pretty early and buggy. While im at it is there any way to convert a vc car to gta3? Yes. gta_playa
Why doesn't someone just tell me how to convert cars from vc to 3 so I don't have to bother you every time I need a car converted?

Y_Less
If you didn't find anything you didn't search hard enough, there is plenty of information on this and other sites and if you can't be bothered to work to help yourself why should others?
