DJDJ
Basically i had san an installed for a long time, no problems. Recently, as evident in another topic, i have had problems since installing my sounblaster live sound card (which is now disabled and uninstalled). Now, everytime i play the game, after a while my computer restarts. i havnt installed any mods since christmas, and had no problems before, but now i get random restarts. Could this be because of the sound cards? i do plan on removing the SB later, and reverting back to my onboard. but this sudden "f*ck you" stlye of restarting has got me confused and angry. I have NO idea why it would be doing this, and teh only thing that has changed is the sound card's being installed and disabled etc. someone please help!!! Specs: Intel Pent 4 2.8Ghz, (windows XP home sev pck 1) 248MB RAM 74.5GB harddrive. I use a san an no cd crack becasue my san an CD has been completley f*cked. Plaka
I don't know what the problem would be specifically but as you had no problems for quite a while it must be something you've done to your System recently ... you could try a "System Restore" or, Try this: Right Click "My Computer" Advanced Startup & Recovery Settings Un-check Automatically Restart Hopefully you will get a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) and there will be an Error Code you can search to ascertain the problem. DJDJ
Okay...this SEEMS to work (SO FAR) for me: after your comp restarts, or game crashes, there should be a dialog saying something like "wondows has recovered from a serious error" here, you can also ssend an "error Report." That i did, and a web page opened saying that the problem lay in my sound card (Realtek AC97) and that downloadeding the latest driver should fix this. i did, and have managed to play "test drive" in San an (to fail and post in mission help snp) with no problem....apart from my Phoenix falling through the floor:S So perhaps you should do that?
