Steve...
Ok, after viewing vALKYR's DevArt, I got inspired to try and create something myself. With the help of vALK, He told me how to do certain things. Well, Here it is so far. It's still a Work In Progress: I have 2. One with a lens flare and one without: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/Kru..._lens_flare.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v218/Kru...e/Wallpaper.gif As they are 1024 x 768, I cannot post them as whole images. Click the links ^. Comments + Critisism(sp?) please. What can I improve on and what should be taken away.
Knife
Looks great to me The only thing is, on the lens flare one it doesn't look like it should be coming from the moon type shape, allthough the lans flare adds a good touch. Still looking pretty neat though
vALKYR
mk, first of all, I know you are inspired by me but you should combine my stuff with your stuff. 70 percent yours and the rest can be mine. Also, don't let it be too empty. Create things, shapes, make every shape work with eachother or else it will not look great. But be careful, don't whore it out. As I said, make it so that every shape has a reason to be on the wallpaper. And another thing: work with effects, hand made of course! One filter and I shall kill you Besides that, I also suggest working with colours a lot. And no lensflares please thanks you. Don't work with brushes that much, it will make you accept stuff your subconsciousness didn't really likes but you'll say "it looks good so yeah" So if you do it too often, you'll slowly move away from the thing you had in your head from the start. Improve and combine your idea you had from the start! Pen tool and colours is doing the magic here. And of course working with the blendingeffects. Steve...
Knife: Thanks, mate. vALK: I don't even know what a filter is . But yes, I wasn't planning on it being empty. I will contact you through MSN on how to do some stuff like stars or those white streaks of light.

Guybrush Threepwood
You can pretty much delete the one with lens flare on it. As far as sh*tty filters go, lens flare takes the gold medal. The grass looks great, no comment on that. The tree looks nice too, except for its underside. Especially the right underside looks unnatural. And the moon looks nice, and like you said, you're adding stars, that should make it a real nice piece altogether. Keep up the good work
gkl
1.There are some small gaps between the grass brush and the actual ground. 2.Although hardly noticeable, I kinda see some straight horizontal lines (the border of the ground shape), it's probably because the gaps between the grass are too big. Grass and the rest of the shapes aren't really looking good together - grass is too soft compared to the tree and that moon-like shape. And imo the moon is too big for the fact that it is put in a corner, maybe make it smaller. Don't really like the general shape of the ground (imo it would look better if it was smoother, without so many bumps).

The ground isn't supposed to be flat. I, Myself am not too happy with the left side of the tree, but I know that if I try and fix it, I'll f*ck it up. I'll do some more today. Expect an update. gkl
Yes, I am indeed aware that you're trying to copy valkyr's style. And I am indeed seen valkyr's works. What I meant was that there are too many small and round bumps that should be a bit smoother, without making so drastic changes of the surface of the terrain, for example, the right side - the small hill takes a too sharp turn downwards. king surfer
Indeed, hills rarely suddenly sprout from nowhere. A gentle incline would be nice. Apart from that, nice work Stevey boy. I'm liking it.

Dare to say that to the guy that digs graves. Damnable little hills everywhere. Maybe it's a secret nazi stash, filled with documents waiting to be uncovered! WHO KNOWS! Mr Killer
It reminds me of one of those Ipod adverts. It looks good.
uzer
Less whoring of the grass brush, or at least change up the brush settings so it looks more 'random'.
