Hi, I'm Wesyeed. I'm 19 and have been playing electronic games all my life so far.

I don't plan to stop unless something better comes along. What more is there to say...

I'm closing in on 20 and look forward to many identity crisises. barf8bd.gif .. LOL Hey about the legal stuff, age restrictions etc, I believe and know America is screwed up. I was thinking of getting out of here, but my professor had my class read some James Baldwin who had the same feelings about Racist, crazy America and actually did leave America only to discover that it's not the country that's screwed up, it's the people. We need better people and the best way to do that is to make yourself better. That's what I say anyway.

sigh...

40 here smile.gif

I usually play a long game once a year and there are few games that I really feel interested playing them.

Last year I played Morrowind, and never thought there will be more interesting game but GTA SA is so interesting that it is hard to not playing it every day!

Poeple around me knows I like games and electronic music composing, some thinks I'm strange person, some thinks i'm still a kid, some like the variety i have in my life. I really don't care! It's my personal life.

My first game was 'Pong'. Then playing (and spending a lot of money on) pacman, frog, lady bug which still my favorite games and thanks for mame, i'm playing them now with this strange nice feeling of the past era of my life

I think I'll keep playing new games while I have the money to upgrade the PC especially the graphic card.

I enjoy 'playing' GTA SA and I like this forum smile.gif

21 here. I guess I just like the action you get in a game like Grand Theft Auto. I have been playing GTA since the release of GTA3. My girlfriend is in fact 20 and she quite likes the GTA series also. But it always gives me a laugh when you hear her say, 'How do I shoot?' or 'OMG my car is on fire what do I do?!'.

Strange to see many people above the age of 30 like GTA. smile.gif

I look at it this way.  When I was growing up in the 80's, (and had an Atari 2600), my parents played games all the time.  Monopoly, Life, Backgammon, Trivial Pursuit, Cribbage, that kind of thing.  My dad is in his 60s, and plays chess a lot.  Both on the computer and face to face.  I see the PS/2, Nintendo and Xbox's as my generation's board games that my parents played.  It's just a different medium.

Good point, my childhood and parents were the same.

I still play my Atari 2600 and 8-bit NES sometimes.

I too think gaming will becoming more and more "acceptable" for adults too like many have already said. It actually already is in many places. Even those people who haven't grown up with video games will start to realise how great fun and good way of relieving stress a session of GTA or any other good guality game is.

Many instanses are actually realising the benefits of videogames. I read about treating claustrophobics with modded Unreal Tournament.

They are going to make games that are espesially designed for surgeons. Cause they noticed that gamer surgeons performed better at their profession than those who dont pla´y games.

Even military is using games to train soldiers(as far as I know) ...Americas Army is after all made by the US-Army.

And what not.

So I really think the future looks bright for us gaming weirdos. cool.gif

Mr. Mixiezipitlick, stop making me miss my old Atari. Now.

I had two copies of Yars Revenge, but only one worked...

Damn, haven't seen that screen in about 25 years!

I used to play that game for hours with my brothers.

*sigh*, nostalgia.....

Been gaming since atari was new , just a bit before that actually , the old computer text games first . You know the type , your walking through the desert do you want to turn left? right? or continue straight ahead .

Most memorable game I ever played is one most never heard of , Master of monsters for the sega .

what makes it that some people above the age of 20 years still like video games, and are even on a forum like this, and other people, (like my parents) got nothing with video games, and in the case of my parents, even almost hate them? (my dad played videogames, but doesn't play videogames anymore since I beat him with ColinMcRae Rally)

Ahhhhhhhhhh, the good old days. I think we might have had the Atari 2600, but I was too young to remember, but we have a old busted up controller. But I do remember my NES, man had so many nice games for it, Rescue, Top Gun, 1942 (I think that was it), Jaws, Zelda, Mario/Duckhunt (that came with it though), Excitebike, many games, some I don't even remember the names of them. Pity my dad sold it YEARS ago, I loved that good ol' thing. The oldest Game system I have now is my good ol' N64.

Total opposite here. When I was around 16, every now and then I'd field a request from someone (sometimes older than me but not old enough to buy cigarettes) for me to go buy them some smokes. In my early 20s, sometimes I'd walk into a nightclub or whatever and people will think I'm 28-30. I get ID'd in spotty fashion for beer, even in places where the clerks have never seen me before. Now that I've moved to the East Coast that's pretty much everywhere I go smile.gif

My favorite *party* game back in the day was Skate or Die...any of you kids ever hear of that one?

colgate.gifsarcasm.gif Hi guys I am 44 (will be 45 on April 20), however I

tell everyone I am 39. Even then some younger guys at my

workplace say things "Awesome, you play games" , so I say I

don't like to play games, do it for relaxation .....they say ooooo

yeah that's true. Some others just perk up their eyes &

say "got a comp at home" Anyway I don't care, I'll jolly well

play, have been from last 4-5 years. Even bought a new

system recently just to play GAMES. It's P4, 512 ram, 64mb

video (will add another 512 ram and Geforce 660gt , the 7th

series graphics card within a couple of weeks). Anyway as

woozie-moo said either you play games or you don't.

..One other thing it's not that I am an expert, but strangely I

end up giving advise how to load, troubleshoot, lend my game

cd's and a guy during a company meeting yesterday said i was

a godfather, most guys wondered what it was (it was the cd's

and game talk he was really referring to - I almost jumped out

of my skin, but he did not say the 'dirty word 'game's).

bye

Man, skate or die was something else. Played it with my little brothers Commodore64 every chance I got. And the Intro music was awesome. Also California Games was a hit. Specially the surfing part.

I have downloaded some old games as abandonware for my 6 and 7 y/o kids.. the ones I used to play back in the days. And they enjoy them a lot. Most of them are actually much better than some new games with good looks but poor content. One of their favourites is bruce lee remake...

29 here -

I remember Skate or Die, I think I've still got it in the loft with my old Spectrums. I never had an Atari 2600, but my mate did. I think people in their early 30's are the generation that grew up (or didn't) when computer games really came into their own. The games have evolved with us so there really isn't a reason to stop other than the lack of free time.

My main gaming phase was around the time of Sega's Mastersystem & Megadrive/Genesis.

I still have the megadrive and occasionally dig it out to play "Streets Of Rage", "Sonic the Hedgehog" or "Flashback".

I had to laugh when LAD mentioned the computer text games. I hated those. Trying to find the correct phrase for "pick up key" was such a pain for me. I'd always get so far before the only response I'd get was "I do not understand". Then I'd just start writing insulting obscenities which just got more reponses like 'How should I "Go f*ck myself"?'

I'm joking abit and I did enjoy them, but God, they wound me up.

>You are in a room facing South. To the East is a wall. To the West is wall. South is  wall and a key on the floor. North is a door.

>Face door.

>You are now facing North.

>Open door.

>Door will not open.

>Unlock door.

>I do not understand.

>Pick up key.

>I do not understand.

>Get key.

>I do not understand.

>Take key.

>You are now holding KEY.

>unlock door.

>How should I "unlock door"?

>Put key in lock.

>I do not understand.

>Place key in lock on door and turn.

>Door will not open. You are now facing South.

>Take the f*cking key and insert it up....

That's usually how it went for me.

I'd still love to have another go of Alex Kidd in Miracle World. I never did beat that final boss.

I just realised that this is in San Andreas chat so I'll keep i vaguely on that. When I was originally playing Flashback (one of the first motion capture games - guy wakes up on Alien planet with no memory) there's a level where he returns to earth and travels around a small section of a city. Going into bars and travelling on the subway trains. It was around that time that I started thinking how good it would be if the world was a bit more interactive and i could go wherever I wanted. Go into any store or talk to pedestrians or just take time away from the missions to experience the environment. It's good to see others had the same idea and actually made it.

@shazard: Is that the Commodore version of Skate or Die? I've only seen the NES version.

Now I'm starting to wish they left the damn skateboard in SA...

I saw someone wrote that "it's not about the grammar, it's about the maturity".

I'm 12, would I fit in the mature section?

Yeah. it's commodore64 version... In those days I hadn't even heard of NES... guess it wasn't that common here in Finland. smile.gif Learned about it only about two years ago when local computer mag wrote about history of game consoles.

And yes skating would have been great in SA. Skate challenge down mt chilliad. tounge.gif With those off-road skateboards.. hehe

Hi, my name's Roberto, I'm 39 and I am a computer game addict...

I love that phrase from Warcraft 3, of course, I put my name and age there...

I've been playing computer games since I got one computer, back when there were nothing but D.O.S. or Win 3.1; of course, before that, I 'wasted' my teenagerhood playing those arcade machines. My mom used to tell me that I wasted too much money on that stupid things...

I wonder what the heck you kids are doing playing a game for +18? wink.gif

Jeje... Why politicians don't go against parents who buy the game for kids, being that something illegal?

Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in that crappy concept of the 'game are too violent for kids' while kids can have reality shows on tv...

Anyway, I've played games almost all my life, from Dig Dug, Phoenix, Moon Patrol, Elevator Action, to Baldur's Gate (all of them), Diablo (all of them, better yet, all Blizzard games), Need for Speed (all of them but Most Wanted, I mean all of them, from the very first), fighting games (Street fighter, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, etc), thinking games (Psych 5, Tetris, Arkanoid,) etc., etc.,... name it, and surely I played it..-

So Roberto, how would you compare now GTA:SA with all the other games you've played?

Shazard, that'd been really cool if R* included rollerskating & skateboarding too in the game. Or skiing, bunjee jumping, sky gliding, etc. I'm off topic now sarcasm.gif
