shazard
Cause so many seem to have problems starting the game on pc... and it seems many have similar problem I had, so I thought I'd re-post what resolved mine. What I mean is when clicking to start the game there is only spinning cd-rom icon for a moment and nothing else happens.. or you might also get error message like this: "Original Disc cannot be found or Authenticated" So - If nothing else helps in your case try to e-mail securom about your problem. (see my quoted msg) It seems their protection system is causing problems with many other games too. Some right at beginning and some after playing the game for some time. I had this also with Silent Storm. Here's my post about this a while back: I also had just the same problem yesterday. Had been playing GTA SA without problems for a long time.. yesterday I installed new graphics card. Tried GTA with new GeForce and no problems what so ever. Don't know if it has something to with pcMark04 that I installed afterwards... cause the problems occured right after I installed it. Uninstalling it didn't help. So I tried some tips I found from forums. Nothing. Then I remembered someone saying something about securom protection and doin analysis. So I right clicked gta_sa.exe and chose launch analysis. I sent the file it created to [email protected] today with explanation of the problem. Just got an answer that told me to download new gta-sa.exe from their server... So I did. I changed the old file to gta_sa.old as they recommended(don't know if it has to remain in the gta folder) and unzipped the new one. Launched new exe and waited... the spinnig disk icon.. man! ..but soon after.. The game launched and worked like a charm! Hope this helps you too. ..again; hope this helps.
