Her answer: Well it's in the Top 40, so it's good music. I just love people who say dumb things and don't realize it. My sister likes popular music also. Except I don't tell her she has no taste because I know music is totally subjective, and it is all about taste. She doesn't have no taste, she has a different taste. I just love it when people say stupid things and don't even realise it. x2. I try to not be a music nazi anymore. It's usually not worth it. Woah, Woah, Woah. This one line has irked me, and it's the problem with this music forum these days. Listen, he can talk about Green Day here. You don't own this forum, who said that you can make the rules here? Anyway, I'm into all kinds of Rock, infact as I type this I'm listening to Motor Ace's album 'Shoot This'....Actually it just changed over to Death Cab for Cutie's album 'The Photo Album'. Honestly, if I hadn't discovered the wonderful world of internet-elitist-music-listeners, I would probably be still listening to such bland music as AC/DC and playing Stairway over and over thinking I'm awesome and listening to the best sh*t ever. It really pays to have people challenge your views regularly. "You can play faster than Al Di Meola and do it with only one pinky, but if you're not listening to what is going on around you, you might as well just shut up" isn't your croth suppose to be erecting when you have an orgasm? I dunno very well how to describe it, cause I'm Dutch. Lemme put it like this: People can suggest, criticise, or disagree with my taste, but not go on bitching about it or telling it sucks ass. I'd like to know what other people listen to, as long as it isn't Rap or R&B or Hardcore or stuff like that. Cause there's no way I'm gonna like that, ever. Clown. Posted March 4, 2006 Share Posted March 4, 2006 Well, I love punk in all shapes and sizes. Green day, yeah, I love em. May not be pure punk but they are still good to me. Just because a band goes main-stream it doesn't automtically make them bad. I've listened to everything from pop-punk MCR to horror-punk Misfits. I still fall back on my old favourites rancid though. Currently I'm enjoying some of the more political stuff, Anti-flag, Strike anywhere, Rise against etc. I never listen to anything except from punk and ska (less than jake, reel big fish etc). maybe I'm just close minded, but punk seems like the only kind of music I can really identify with and which makes sense to me. I just can't see what people see in metal, rock, indie and all that sh*t. To all you guys who are just using this topic as an excuse to bitch about green day, go make your own topic and stop cluttering up this one. Can we bitch about coldplay instead? Ram Jam, The Who, Cream (anything with Clapton tbh) Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, R.H.C.P (most would consider them to be rock, dunno about you guys), R.A.T.M (Again, although there's alot of funk and rap influence, most would say rock), Pink Floyd (of course), Audioslave and Q.O.T.S.A ..
