About the Alienware, I am wondering if I should get is an ALX desktop, that I will configure to cost 8 thousand. The Mac laptop that I am also wondering if I should get is a MacBook Pro, that I will configure to cost 3 thousand. My budget is 10k, so both are well under. I am planning to use the Alienware for Photoshop, Making games, and other developer stuff. But I am planning to use the Mac for just playing games, and maybe photoshop, and making web sites. Anyways, for me, it saves a lot of time if I just order it from alienware.com because I will get everything I want and it saves a lot of the hassle. And Tsuroki, eat me. You guys don't have to be that mean. BTW, I removed some stuff I didn't REALLY need from the configuration, and brought it down to 8k. No the Mac isn't the grestest gamer in the world. Why? Because there aren't nearly as many games made for it. Why else? Because wasn't ideally made for gamer. BUT IT CAN PLAY F'ING GAMES SO SHUT THE HELL UP!!!! I am a Mac fun andI have played games on the Mac for years. Games that if it wasn't for the Mac you PC guys wouldn't have at all or they wouldn't be nearly the quality they are today. @Shura4ThaW1n If you want a gaming machine, no don't by a Mac. Why? Because it's a pain in the a** to upgrade and upgrades are limited. If you want a machine for Photoshop or video editting, then a Mac is the BEST thing to get. Don't believe me, ask any video and image PROFESSIONAL. They are also great for audio editting as well. If you want gamer first and a photo/video/audio second, then get a PC. If you want the price of a PC but the stabilty of a system that won't crash every 5mins if you look at it funny. Then read about Mac OS X x86, build a PC that support it, which is easy enough to do these days. Find and download Mac OS X x86 and install it. Is it legal? That's some what debatable but for the most part more than likely not, but that's your problem. I can tell you this much. Forget Alienware. There are other places that can build a PC for you and five you many more options not just for internal parts but also the case look...frankly I think the Alienware cases suck on looks, the ones with the murals are nice but oare over priced. And costed about 2 grand less AND it's more or less a rebadged Clevo, if we want to get all technical here. Alienware have the Clevo D900K and D900T. Which is the Sager 9750 and Sager 9890 respectivly. Anyway, I doubt you're actually getting a 10 grand computer just because you're getting into some school. It seems you parents have more money than sence, if that's the truth. And also, macs are the frecking when when it comes to editing and imaging. We've got dual core G5's in my media class, they're great, but I feel like throwing that mac mouse at the wall. One button my ass I'll probably bring in a mouse when I get tired of them. And if you are smart enough to get into that school, building a pc will be no problem. Anyone can do it, infact in the latest PC magazine, they have a beginners guide to building a pc and answer a decent amount of questions (March 7th edition) Heck I bet even a crackhead could build a pc if you told them there was crack in it for them. And so what if your 13? I built my first pc at 9 using instructions off of something we call the internet. When building a pc, everything is just snap in or screw on basically. Plus there is the gained knowledge and satisfaction that you built it as well as all that extra cash left over, maybe ask your parents to save the cash you have left over to put towards a car when you are old enough? Or save the money for when you want to upgrade to even better parts in a few years. P.S. If I had that kind of money I would have built atleast 3 pcs and bought a laptop or two for that much. What kind of "good school" could you possibly have gotten into? If it's not public school, your parents are paying for it anyway. Likewise, I assume they said that they'd "get you a computer".
