valtor
First I hope this is the right place to ask for this. But here's the deal My little bro is a big BatMan freak so I want to try my hand at makeing a mod in GTASA for him now I found the place I would like to replace and thats the farm you can buy out by Leafy Hollow, I'm going to do one thing at a time and thats to make the BatCave now the Question I have is what would be the best way to edit the area. Now I've read around the forum on how to place buildings but how should I make the cell for the cave should it be an Interior cell or Exterior cell I would like to be able to drive around the inside of the cave and have a place to park and save the vehicles, but to get in and out of the cave with a vehicle is to jump across a river by shady creeks. I have no Exp. at modding for GTASA, but this is something I would like to try so any help would be great or if there is anywhere that has a complete BatMan mod please let me know cause I have only found the Tumbler. the_king
First of all, you should read the modelling tutorials in the tutorial section. They will tell you some good methods on how to make things- such as your cave.
valtor
ok thanks all though when it comes to modeling its greek to me but I'll give it a shot.
Suction Testicle Man
ok thanks all though when it comes to modeling its greek to me but I'll give it a shot. Well if you're going to do anything of what you've suggested you'll need to learn Greek, and well. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated. Picolini
If you want to make a mod, then you really have to learn to mod. It only makes sense. Thats like asking how do can i go fishing? But i don't want to fish.... Also, i know people don't like this site mentioned.... but over at ascendence.net, they have a Batman Mod forum for SA. Not much done, but they are really helpful over there, and they should be able to help you out.
valtor
I understand what you mean, it's just with my work load I have little time to try any thing any more but I manage to do some things, about the the best thing I can really do in any type of modding is the story line but with the info I find here I think I can do more. Thanks for the Info PS. I think the R* should hire you modder's to make there games

Picolini
Heres the link to the actual forums, haven't been there before, but when i entered that link it did a search for it and i got this... http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.js...ww.batmod.tk%2F Anyways, if you want a good site with lots of members that can be more helpful than here (not to dis this place, its just a little slow lately) and there are alot of good mods and modders, go RIGHT HERE! Ascendence.net. Just to fill you in though, people here don't agree w/ alot of people over at Ascendence because they put out alot of conversions (editing other peoples/games mods, or just meshes and releasing them for a different game.) But even at Ascendence, orignal author credit is highly recommeneded (theifs will be banned!) but here you must have the original author become a member (if not already) then post in the thread giving permission (f*ckIN RIDICULOUS BULLsh*t!) and you CANNOT release anything from another videogame (ie my sonic the hedghog and Tails the fox mods (which you can get at my site, lol. or Need for speed (NFS) mods which alot of people do). But i think converting is fine, GTAF just wants original stuff, they are kinda trying to force people to model their own stuff which i think is pretty stupid. As long as credit is given where it is do, wheres the problem? Sure people don't always do that, but when you catch them, ban them! Simple as that! And why fix something (make a new model) when its not broken (when you already have a good one)?
valtor
I know what you mean I like the imported mods my self, But I'm hard headed I like to learen how to do things my self like the plane model I made I just sat back and said to myself I'll make it myself and get help where I need it but Reguardless of who helps they will get credit for what they helped me do it's only fair but I've checked out the site they got good stuff I can get the hang of modeling but the Scripting is a totaly deffrent story I'll need a lot of help in that area but thats for major mods I'm starting small and working my way up, all in all I like this site there is so much info here. Picolini
If you want some help getting your plane in game at all, i could probably help you out. At least just to see how it looks, I'm not good at workin out collision or textures, but i know how to set up the hierarchy (and in odd ways to get it to function differently, like you plane, i could probably get the wings to pivot in and out, like in the pictures below). Keep it up man, we need all the modders we can get. I could get it kinda like this, but obviously it would be forward facing wings, like yours. closed open And yes, scripting is very hard! I want to start a big mod, but i feel like it'll never be in SA because, i like to work alone, and Im still stuck on texturing, lol. And for my mod, i'll need to go all out, script editing (w/ Darkpactor, so you can still use saves) as well as adding something to the map, pedestrian changes, and vehicle changes. If it's possible i'd like an autoinstaller too, as itd be a little complicated for most people. But my guess is, the mod won't be for SA, by the time its done GTA4 will be out on PC for a while... lol.
valtor
thanks soon as i get it finished i'll mail it to you may take a little bit but i'll get it done i was going to make the hierarchy in 3D Canvas so I guess that all that would have to be added to it from Zmod is the col. but any help would be great its funny that you put up the F-14 that was the one I wanted to try next lol. Picolini
I find it a lot easier to do the hierarchy in Zmod, than in 3dsmax, i don't know how hard it would be to do it in canvas though, never tried that. Good like with it all... lol about the f-14. Heres a pic of a free mesh i downloaded, i'll send it to you if you want it, either to convert, for references, or whatever. Oh, and heres a plane i made way back when i first started any 3d modeling. This was in AutoCad, which is a lot different than 3dsmax/zmod/gmax. Its more specific to units, mainly for engineering and architechture (good for map mods, but the programs costs a few G's). When i converted it to a 3ds file w/ 3dsmax on i left smoothing on, and it made some weird indents on the sides near the front, but i like how it looks so im keeping it. Not gonna make this a mod though, just thought it was similar to yours... @dexx, you'll probably see this. Just so you don't remove the pic, Downloaded from 3D Heaven. ------------------------- www.3dheaven.net and your rules do say its ok to post free models... valtor
well 3D Canvas is very simple to use it has a lot of plugins and and it's compatable with RayMan & PovRay I think it's a good program if you want to check it out at Amabilis and it's cheaper than most other programs out. It does look a bit like mine, I've tried Acad man thats a tough program to jump into and ya send the F-14 to me at [email protected] I can use it for the specs, oh my system got a reg. error and corupted my plane file so I had to start over here is the new streamline model it's only 1828 Faces: X-Fighter Front X-Fighter Back X-Fighter Side X-Fighter Perspective I think I need better Pics ah next time hey Pickalini how do you get your pics small and to act like links? Picolini
I host all my pictures at Imageshack.us . Its free, and gives you the code to what kinda way you want it to show up (link, direct image, thumbnail, etc). I've got almost 300 pics up already, lol. And its easy to upload and everything. So save them, you need to make an account. There is like no login page, so when you get your confirmation mail w/ the link to your index, bookmark it! Itll login in automatically then. And i'll send you that f-14. I've been thinkin about it, so i actually started workin on convertin it for SA . But it'll take me forever and probably wont ever get done . I suck... Heres some pictures of it though. It's only colored in zmod2, no textures. Lol, and this airplane (f1-17 stealth fighter) was hidden inside the 3ds file.... Oh, and your newer plane kinda reminds me of this mod... http://www.gtanetwork.it/zone/pafiledb.php...on=file&id=4365 Edited March 1, 2006 by Pickalini

valtor
I still got a bit to do to my model, I Have a few more Ideas I've put on paper. I'm going to try and learn Zmod so I can use it well talk to ya later. Edited March 1, 2006 by valtor
Picolini
To import files in zmod you have to register, but you can use everything else for free. If you want the plane in .z3d file i can send that to you... (along w/ a way to import files to zmod2, but i cant say here). And you CAN use any texture, but i wouldn't recommend it, it would have to fit the vehicle well. It'd be better to make your own, have someone make them for you, or find something online thats the same or similar. There are a bunch of sites out there w/ free models and textures.. And when you import files into zmod it takes away all the texture pictures, you need to put them in again yourself, and may need to redo them altogether.
