Tom Hagan
25 to Life Platforms: PS2, Xbox Genre: Third Person Shooter - Action Developer: Avalanche Software, Ritual Entertainment Publisher: Eidos Interactive Online: Yes Release Date: Already Out General Price: $49.99 USD ESRB Rating: Mature Learning Curve: Half Hour Players: 1 (SP) Up to 16 (online) Multimedia: http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/...09052124870.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/...09052124229.jpg http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/article/...09052123573.jpg Review: 25 to Life is an overly simple third-person shooter that has a story-driven single-player mode and a team-based multiplayer mode. The single-player starts you out in the role of Freeze, a gangster who's trying to get out of the game and escape with his wife and son. You're asked to do "one last job," which, of course, goes spectacularly wrong and messes everything up. You'll also play as a cop surrounded by dirty cops and as a gang leader who gets banished to Mexico only to end up taking over the organized-crime scene there by force. The story is all over the place, and since the playable characters are to a certain extent connected, you're never really sure if you're playing as a good guy or a bad guy. But the narrative is so lame that you probably won't care. Graphics: Graphics are far from great, just too many flaws. First of all, everything is choppy, even in single player. There is little detail to the scenes that you play through, and nothing just stands out. Everything is very bland to say the least, they really dropped the ball in this section. Overall: 4/10 Sound: The best part about 25 to Life is the soundtrack they put together, which consists mostly of gangster rap. Artists such as Tupac, to Tech N9ne make an appearance on the soundtrack. Game wise, the sound isnt that good, gun shots dont sound that great, and the voice acting is terrible. Another area they didnt do too great in. Overall: 5/10 Gameplay: 25 to Life just cant seem to catch a break, and they wont in this section either. The game play is just BORING, you practically do the same thing every mission. Go here, get this, youre done plain and simple. There isnt any depth to the game, you get tired of the same old thing a few missions in, and its tough to get the game on. Overall: 2/10 Storyline: The single-player starts you out in the role of Freeze, a gangster who's trying to get out of the game and escape with his wife and son. If someone is willing to give you the game for free, maybe, but if you have to use hard earned money to rent or buy this game, dont do it. Its just an expensive paper weight at best. Overall: 4/
darthYENIK
So it sucks, eh. (I figured I'd throw that 'eh' in to relate to you) But seriously. I played this game for 5 seconds and gave up right there. It looks like it was made by someone whose only exposure to street gangs was Mtv. Tom Hagan
Agreed, I played it online, and all it was is a bunch of little kids like "yo". Story mode made me laugh a couple times, only because it was so pathetic.
