InTeRfEcTOR
Hello just bought GTA San Andreas for PC' bought a brand new DVD-ROM with it, installed the game, clicked on the GTA icon.... to realize it crashed on startup.... I rebooted, downloaded latest drivers for my video card, closed all other applications I could, I checked the FAQ here, I tried changing users, using win98 compatibility, changing that thing deep in the My Computer settings... nothing seems to work this is what happens: I see the 2 intro logos (some audio company and Nvidia), then the rockstar, rockstar north, and then the main GTA SA logo... then it starts to fade away, and freezes when I only see the logo almost all faded, but it remains that way... also, I can see my mouse from that point... and the way the cursor changes when I move it i'd say there's a window that apears back in windows mode... the only way I can close that screen is 1. to turn off my cpu manually or using alt-f4... I have a 2.8 G Celeron *yewa I know celeron sux, but i inherited of that cpu since my mother bought herself a Laptop...), 504 MB of Ram, win XP pro My Video card is a ATI Radeon 9250 (my motherboard doesn't support AGP cards so that's the latest non-AGP Ati card) 128 MB so plz answer me (by e-mail if possible: interfector_god_hates_us_all at hotmail (i write it 'coz that's not the mail i used to register)) thx:)
Mike_Toreno
First of all, to check if it's your computer specs that's causing the problem, try running a high-end game if you can, games like BF2 and CoD2. If other games like that work fine then your specs isn't the problem here (well I can't say Intel Celeron is the best of processors though). Then it might be that your disk is scratched. Check to see if either of them is problem.
InTeRfEcTOR
nah I checked for scratches and I can run KoToR I and II without much problems and quite smoothly so I don,t think the problem's the specs either (but yea, I know celeron sux lool) i'm currently re-installing.... i hope it'll f*cking work or I dunno what i'll do lol

jarjar
nice to see this is an active forum though, I only posted this 10 min. ago.... Yeah, sometimes you don't get a response for days and sometimes the topics question can be answered in a few minutes. Sometime in 2 minutes you can have a answer or have you topic locked. Anyway check you computer has all the spec and that you aren't missing an files that the exe looks for. Or GTA San Andreas folder should be nealy 6GB's. If all that fails or everything seams fine then try a reinstall and see if it beings working. IF id dosen't let us or Rockstar now. Or try getting another copy of San Andraes and trying it. It could be something wrong with your disc. Good Luck
