How can I stop SA from being yanked

I'm playing and all of a sudden the desktop appears . Most of the time it happens when my antivirus program does an update.

First of all, this has been asked many times already. Use the search function in future.

 

You may want to try a disc cleanup or a disc defragment. Then close all programs that are running already. Then, you can run San Andreas.

I think you're misunderstanding what the problem is. It has nothing to do with SA. Somehow other programs give themselves top priority ( I gues the programming term for that would be focus) and automatically alt-tabs out to the desktop.

You're not going to be able to stop that, that is just the response of a good program, anytime SA sees a new program pop up in the backround it will alt-tab out. You're not gonna be able to change that, my suggestion would be to change your anti-virus settings, other than that idk what to tell you

Simple fix: shut down the programs (AIM, MSN, antivirus, etc) that have popups before you start SA, that's what I do.

 

Alternative: Not quite as effective, but if you set SA's resolution to the same as your normal resolution (or vice versa), it does at least speed up the switch when you get yanked.
