Actually, it's quite possible from the beginning of the game. I just checked it out. Killed myself by drowning during the mission 'The Party'. I had $155. I'm spawned at the nearest hospital, with $55 remaining after the $100 is deducted for getting patched up. A Kaufman Cab is waiting for me as per usual, with the blinking pink arrow above it. I enter, and am transported to Ken Rosenberg's - the place where I began the mission. It only cost $9, too, which was what I thought in the first place.
