Central2
The description for "Old Skool" is as follows: Here goes talk about the old school GTA's; the original, 2 and London. There's also a modding forums for you to post/get new mods for the games, or find out how to make them. The "GTA's" should be "GTAs" - you don't use apostrophes for plurals. It's just a little something, but to anyone who notices it it screams out "unprofessional" among other things. Cheers .
Demarest
Making nouns plural and making anagramical names plural are two different things. Consider McD's. The apostrophe is used to indicate that the s isn't part of the anagram. One could argue that it being lowercase accomplished this, but look at the c. It's part of it. I think this is true in any anagramical title where the anagram is being suffixed. "I just PM'ed you." "I am a CHL'er." etc. At least that seems to be commonplace. anuj
I'm surprised you'd take notice of something such as "GTA's" and fail to point out that we didn't spell "school" properly. :psyduck:
fred
Changed. It doesn't look much better without and it's kinda trivial.. but whatever floats your boat, really.
Svip
The traditional style of pluralizing single letters with "'s" ("there are two Q's in that word") was naturally extended to acronyms when they were commonly written with periods, and is still preferred by some people for initialisms. However, it is very common to inflect them like ordinary words; thus the usual plural of "CD" is "CDs," while "CD's" is reserved for the possessive. When an acronym is part of a function in computing that is conventionally written in lowercase, it is common to use an apostrophe to pluralize or otherwise conjugate the token. In computer lingo, it is common to use the name of a computer program, format or function, acronym or not, as a verb; for example "John zipped the files" or "John zip'ed the files" means that John used the program zip on the files to conglomerate them. This practice results in sentences like "Be sure to remove extraneous dll's." Source
jarjar
What i would like to see (mostly because i am a really bad speller) is like Microsofts forums (i think the ms forums have it) and the new Windows Live Mail system has. It is simalar to MS Office. It see's errors and underlines them red for a spelling mistake and/or green for a grammer error. Though i dought this will ever happen as Microsoft has there own forums system, and we use Invision Power Board. But thats just my thoughs on the subject, whether IVB gets this type of thing the the future i don't know, i just know it helps alot and is alot less imbarrasing. BTW: I know i proberly made about 5 or more spelling mistakes in the one paragraph, but please don't laugh at me, lol. And i completly forgot Google Toolbar had that feature. Thanks anyway, but i do think adding that type of thing ot the forum would be a good idea too. If it was possible, which i don't think it is. Sounds like more useless crap to put strain on the database. If you're that concerned about proper spelling (I know I'm sure as hell not), then get yourself a dictionary. Lazy bum.
