waddle48
Ok, you may all find this a stange idea, but I thought about it and have came up with this... I was thinking one day, how cool would it be if the whole of san andreas was bigger than CJ, and cj could just walk about and everyone would be bigger than him, and cars would be extremley huge. but then i thought that would take too long to make all the objects really big. Then this idea came to mind! I am a big fan of the Gamecube, and was looking at recent games, when I saw Chibi Robo . this little robot is really small in comparason to the house he lives in. This is when it hit me, how about making a new house, that isn't the same scale as CJ, but like 4 times as big. So I started work on a floor plan, and finding that difficult, I made a plan of my house, but made a few changes. I made a plan for the upstairs, downstairs and the attic. I then started to make the floors, and so far have only made the downstairs but plan to continue the upstairs and attic soon. The problem is, that i'm in need of a little help, as making these floors are going to be quite pointless if i donw have any furniture in them! And that's what you lot are for! There are many objects needed to be made, and it would take a lot of time if i have to do them all myself, and would like to ask you modellers out there if you want to join in this mod. I have made a list of all the objects needed and you can make how ever many you want to the best of your ability. I have divided the rooms so that it is easier to see where the different objects go. If you have any questions please PM me. Here's the list: BEDROOMS ============================================== boys double bed girls double bed double bed double bed double wardrobe door closed double wardrode door open containng clothes on hangers etc. bed side table drawers closed bed side table drawers staggered dvd/video game holder pile of magazones (staggerd so you can climb them dolls house (scaled to CJ's height) toy box (also some toys, like tebby bears, yoyo etc. but no vehicle toys like cars) small shelf with plastic army men (army men are the same size as CJ) wall fixed shelves chest of drawers Computer on a computer desk with some disk cases floppy disks etc. television gamecube with control playstation 2 with control Xbox with control monopoly board game anything else you can think off KITCHEN ============================================== fridge (door open some food inside, cheese bottles or water etc.) freezer (door closed) washing machine tumble dryer kitchen worktop kitchen cupboards some with opened doors pile of plates cutlery (knife, fork, spoon) tomato Sauce salt and pepper kitchen sink built into worktop cooker dishwasher kitchen drawers some open small kitchen table small stools for table microwave kettle toaster pile of wet clothes (will act as a mountain so make ridges to walk on) anything else you can think off STUDY ============================================ small book case piled up books piled up papers television pen pot with pens etc. stapler staples pencil pen ruler laptop on a desk floppy disks mobile phone phone paper clips office chair anything else you can think off DINING ROOM ============================================ dining table fancy glass cups napkins fancy china plates large display case with fancy plates inside and glass cups candle stick anything else you can think off FANCY BATHROOM =========================================== fancy shower towel holder with towel toilet roll on a holder toilet brush bathroom mirror bathroom cabnet toothbrush cup and holder with brushes and tootpaste in it soap holder with soap face cloth anything else you can think off SIMPLE BATHROOM ========================================= simple toilet simple sink towel holder toilet roll holder anything else you can think off LIVING ROOM ========================================= coffee table speakers for the record player surround sound speakers (4 small speakers and subwoofer, seperate models) fancy cushions hamster cage anything else you can think off Garage ======================================== Car with window open and sunroof open toolbox tool rack with some toold on it old cardboxes stacked up small pile of wood anything else you can think off cloak room ======================================== coat hook with 4 hooks and coats/jackets hat rack with some hats on it anything else you can think off Attic ======================================== Cardboard boxes waspnest dusty christmas decorations dead wasp dead person/skelenton anything else you can think off FOOD Cupboard ======================================== shelves tins /cans of food and drink alcoholic drinks jars of jam etc. anything else you can think off vehilces ======================================== fly to replace sparrow wasp to replace maveric remote control car toy car toy plane model plane to replace hyrda model helicopter to replace hunter model car barbie car lego car lego plane action man car cartoony looking cars (with eyes and mouth etc) metal car from the monopoly board game anything else you can think off Misc ======================================= light bulbs hanging from celing (some with lapshades) picture frames vase with flowers Anything else you can think off Thanks. waddle48
This would be so cool in multiplayer, it's like the rats maps for CS! Yeah, Pretty much. Oh I almost forgot. To get the correct size of the objects. you have to scale them to the size of CJ (like so a fridge would be slightly taller than him.) and then I was thinkning of scaling it to 5 times the size if CJ, but i'm not sure yet, of how big that is, that might be too small, if anyone has a good idea of how the scaling could be, please throw me your suggestions. Oh, and if you can make one of the vehicles, they can be normal size, so that CJ can drive them. I'm having a slight problem with my model though, because when i import it into 3dsMax, some of the walls are invisible, anyone able to help? EDIT If you want to model some of the objects above, can some people make things open, and staggered like the stacks of magazines will be like stairs instead of a huge building and will be easier to climb. It would be like CJ: behold my green gangsta giants! Sorry, but from now on in this post, do not quote my post, because it takes a while to scroll down! yeah but just making CJ's DFF smaller would be pointless, 'cas then you have to worry about making all cars smaller, then peds the peds would be too big so you will have to make them smaller because they can't ride the small cars. then you would have to make small weapons/scale them down. So i would say that making a new map would be eaiser so you don't have to worry abuot changing too many models. EDIT Bigrazzer has edited my model, so all faces can be seen, i'm in the process of learning to UV map, so i'll post updates as soon as posible! I've scaled the model to CJ's actual size, and i'm going to try different sizes once i get it in game.
bujo
I think scaling in sketchup won't do you nothing. I use sketchup all time and model never show in max like it should.Or maybe i do something wrong?(hardly) I always scale it in max. Only way importing dff into sketchup is through max or gmax (3ds file),bothering or not,it's only way.
GTAThomas
you can scale it with an VC vehicle. use zmod 1 (comes with importer and exporter for dff) and import a car dff from the vc img. then export it as .3ds import the .3ds into sketchup. and uh thats it... idk if that would work though, but thats how i got VC buildings into sketchup. bujo
I think it's pretty much clear how to scale it (it has to be exported from somewhere). I just figured out about scaling in sketchup. In 3ds import or export options, under scale units option, must be selected "model units". It's stupid but it gave me headache.
GTAThomas
Fair enough. Though I do agree with what you are saying, I simply posted that for those who are uncomfortable with scaling in 3dsMax. Your explaination is alot more simply. oh yeah, sounds like a really um... interesting mod Its so interesting I will more than likely download sooner or later (When its finnised of course ). waddle48
Can we please get back on topic please?! Ok, Slight problem with the col not working, and i'm trying to sort this out.. SwedishMafia
A little tip man: There are allread hundreds of nice objects in the gta3.img. Why not simply extract and rescale? For kitchen things you can use objects from the bistro for one example. To get the names you need simply use the Map editor, a really excellent program. Is Gmax still out for those who need it? In that case you could do a lot of those things yourself. I would consider helping you if I knew enough about col files. Good luck btw.
waddle48
I thought of this just after posting, but there is one problem, i will need someone who can edit the objects for me i'f they are needed to be. e.g the fridge in CJ's house will have to be changed so it has an opened door, with shelves that have cans or pieces of food in it. If someone can do that please let me know.
