Moto
This was a "10 minute heart" (for valintines day) competition that I got a little creative with.
Guybrush Threepwood
That would make certain people's IRC life much easier. I love it
Dup
Haha, I love it I wonder if I could edit the keyboard setup and bind <3 to one of them useless keys I never use like the "windows" keys, then make some transfers for the keyboard. Nice modelling, but the keys look a little tall and thin at the base. But the render and dof look purdey.
VideoPoker
I think that the <3, E, and D all look a little too sharp compared to the blurriness of the others and the general blur on all the keys. Still nice for a quick render. Moonshield's less handsome join date brother <

Still nice for a quick render. It's becuase the blur is supposed to represent what heppens with distance, tooclose, and too far away from the camera, maybe it's to show it focusing onto those specific keys. Good job though, i love it.
Svip
Come to think of it, my 4, E, and 3 key (probably others as well) have more labels on them, besides, that is a really hot keyboard, look how small the labels are! Nice job. The blurriness is confusing though.

Good job though, i love it. I think the thing is that the camera is focused in on the letters, but the key itself feels too blurry. The labels seem to be popping off the page because of their focus. @piece - DOF is wacky. But I can't fix that because I have no idea what DOF is. - The entire thing feels grainy. Is that a renderer thing?
king surfer
The "E is too in focus compared to the other letters. If all were blurry apart from the "<3" it could look pretty good. Still, good work.
Moto
The "E is too in focus compared to the other letters. If all were blurry apart from the "<3" it could look pretty good. Still, good work. DoF uses a planar focal point to determine what's out of focus and what isn't. If you notice, The <3 and the E are fairly horizontal to one another, making them both in focus. The only way to fix that is to move the view, which would get rid of the illusion that there is a whole keyboard there. Here, I took a screenshot. @ Graininess: I lowered the samples, because a 10 hour render just didn't feel right for a 10 minute model Edited February 16, 2006 by Moto
disco
nice work. the first thing i noticed was the letters seem really small, but i guess that's just the design of the keyboard, so it doesn't matter. As with your previous 'boredom' topic, i'm not keen on the 'noise' you have in the render. Is that cause it would take way too long to render otherwise? Guybrush Threepwood
They still stick out way too much and makes it look weird. They kind of do, but I've got this old Compaq keyboard (go figure) and it looks a lot like that. Kind of odd smallish keys with big gaps inbetween them. Which is probably Compaq's way of saying "it's alright you've got fat fingers, we've got the keyboard to match. Fatty."

Is that cause it would take way too long to render otherwise? I doubt it. It looks like the image was rendered in full resolution with some random black and white noise added to the image afterwards. My main problem with it, as previously mentioned, is the keys being tall and skinny at the base.
K^2
I did not nottice that at the bottom, but I still don't see the connection. Did he bombard the whole thing with photons? That's the only way you'll actually uget grains due to a lower rendering time that I can think of. However, this scene does not warrant a photon simulation. A single ray in every direction would be more than sufficient, and it would render in a couple of minutes with no grains.
