grand_theft_princess
Okay, I just want to post here first before I post in the GTAIII forum regarding a question I have. I installed GTAIII, and it ran. I changed the skin, and it ran. I installed this trainer thing (available, it says in the readme, at gtaskins.com), and it won't run now. I'd post the name/whatever of the trainer, but I'm writing this from a different computer and the one on which GTAIII is installed is not available. I uninstalled and reinstalled GTAIII, but I also had an unmodded backup. NONE of this works. The problem is that the game starts, the RAM OK, ROM OK vid plays, the intro (with the piano music) plays, and then the GRAND THEFT AUTO III screen with the characters comes up and my CD drive makes some funny noises. After about 5 minutes a box pops up that says "Insert Grand Theft Auto - Disc 2 or press ESC to cancel." Well, I take this to mean the install disc, since I had the play disc in the drive already. So I put the install disc in and the thing whirs, like it's reading the disc, but nothing happens. There's no 'enter' option to indicate that I followed the instructions. My question is, omg what'd I do and can I fix it, please help me. I'm honestly not blond but I can't seem to understand what the problem is. Help please? solo
First off, try uninstalling the game again and makes sure that once it's uninstalled these 2 folders are deleted: [C:\Documents and Settings\your name here\My Documents\GTA3 User Files] and [C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII]if they are still there, delete them. Remember that the folder in the My Documents folder is where your savegames are so you might want to back them up first. There is also a file in there called gta3.set, don't bother backing that up just delete it. Reinstall the game and see what happens. This might sound a bit obvious, but did you check to see if your game disks are damaged or dirty? Failing all that, your computer might be on its way out
