kalonation
Hi, Can someone tell me how to unlock all the wctr radio station programmes because the ones I used to listen to at the beginning don't come on any more
crazyanurag
that hasn't happened with me,though after you complete the game, some of the announcements change...i guess you'll have to travel long distances to actually hear the entire list play over... but in any case, this shouldn't be in mission help...it has to go in gameplay or whatever... Plaka
Moving this to Gameplay Forum, you should get more response there. This Forum is for members to request someone to complete a Mission for them.
pdescobar
Hi, Can someone tell me how to unlock all the wctr radio station programmes because the ones I used to listen to at the beginning don't come on any more It is impossible to unlock all of the episodes of all of the programs at once. Each program changes which episode it plays based on your storyline progress and the information which controls this behavior is "hardcoded" and essentially unmoddable. The only way to hear them all in-game is to load up saves from specific points, but that's pretty inefficient because there'd be something like 10-20 different saves you'd have to go through and you'd have to endure a good bit of duplication. If you actually want to do this, I'll look through my notes and tell you where in the storyline each episode plays. As an alternative, if you own the PC version of the game, it is fairly easy to use a program to extract the episodes from the audio streams and listen to them outside of the game. We aren't supposed to publicly discuss such programs in any detail here in the SA forums, however, so if you are interested in doing this and need help finding those tools, we can discuss it privately. «Phobos»
If you like to hear your all radio programes you got to play the game again, because when you advance futher more in the game the radio programes will change.
Mainland Marauder
The talk shows I believe have three *episodes* each which change (I think) as you unlock San Fierro and then Las Venturas. WCTR News mentions (after you finish those missions) the burning cannabis fields, the DA with the load of said herb in his trunk, the ambush in "Green Sabre" and Tenpenny's conviction, the ensuing riots and then his death after "End of the Line." This thread at least debunks a notion brought forth in the trivia topic on GD - that only pdescobar and I listen to the radio... pdescobar
The talk shows I believe have three *episodes* each I can see I'm gonna wind up posting the whole list before this thread is done.... It's nowhere near that consistent or simple. Area 53 and Lonely Hearts each have 3 episodes, but Entertaining America has 3 episodes and a teaser promo, Gardening with Maurice has 2 episodes and 2 teaser promos (and quite often both an episode and promo of that play in the same rotation), and the other 3 shows each have only 2 episodes. which change (I think) as you unlock San Fierro and then Las Venturas. The talk show episode changes are spread throughout the storyline. None of them are actually specifically changed by either "Green Sabre" or "Yay Ka Boom Boom" although those missions do trigger news changes. And then there's the fact that some shows are actually off the air for a time too... WCTR News mentions (after you finish those missions) the burning cannabis fields, the DA with the load of said herb in his trunk, the ambush in "Green Sabre" and Tenpenny's conviction, the ensuing riots and then his death after "End of the Line." And much more. There are eleven separate News episodes and they pretty much all reference what's going on near that point in the storyline. This thread at least debunks a notion brought forth in the trivia topic on GD - that only pdescobar and I listen to the radio... Well yeah. We all know M17 does too. srg
I'm really impressed with you PD & Mainland. You can still find a good time to make notes on a radio program. I suppose it's not only WCTR that you've made notes on is it? Now this would be an interesting "side mission" to do after all the real ones have been accomplished. pdescobar
I'm really impressed with you PD & Mainland. You can still find a good time to make notes on a radio program. I suppose it's not only WCTR that you've made notes on is it? Now this would be an interesting "side mission" to do after all the real ones have been accomplished. Back when SAAT was just an idea, I had this dream that SA radio would be fully editable and we could pick and choose which radio tracks played when. So, I went through the game finding the WCTR playlist changing triggers in hopes that I could match that data to something in the audio streams or configs. Unfortunately, the more I learned about the formats of the audio files, the less likely that dream became and at this point it seems clear that all those triggers are hardcoded into the exe and nearly impossible to edit. But, I still have the notes I took from listening to WCTR so I guess it wasn't a total waste. WCTR is by far the most interesting radio station with regards to content that changes with the storyline. Excluding the 3 bridge announcements, all of the music stations only have between 0 and 5 storyline references, and those are generally fairly easy to narrow down to a mission or set of missions; they're also harder to test in-game because they're just very short comments randomly stuck between songs. The only one I don't have a decent feel for is one of the mission-related KJAH tracks because their accents are so thick I can only make out about three words. I'm not even sure it is mission-related but it the surrounding tracks are so it would make sense that it is too.
srg
Now that would've been another cool thing if the programs were actually editable. I agree with you on WCTR. I believe it's the only talk show radio in San Andreas, aside from the fact that its programs reflect most of what's happening in the game as you progress through it. In fact, could it be that there are some clues to some of the news they report? Now I don't want to go into some alien idea but...
