Mister Pink
Do you like Kraftwerk? Pioneers of Electronica/whatever you want to label stuff. Just downloaded and BOUGHT one of their C.D's (i'm not a complete thief) Simple music. Great. I missed them at a festival last year called Electric Picnic. I'm kicking myself over it. By the way, now that i've started a topic, have any of you being going through a drastic different style of music? I listen to alot of classic rock but now i'm into Psycedelic Trance (if you haven't heard this you might like it.. www.triplag.com ) you can listen to it immediatley. Also i've got into Aphex Twin and Depeche Mode. I needed something fresh. Anyway, if your open to trying new music, download or buy Tour de France by Kraftwerk. It's just lovely RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
Paco
Kraftwerk is a group of f*cking GODS. GODS I tell you. Tour De France (the single) owned so much, sh*t, I need to listen to it. These guys fueled the fire in the Electric Funk genre of the 80's, and people who listen to Electro know them as the fathers of that sh*t.

-shaDow
I definitely respect them for everything they pioneered in electronica, but I've never really been a huge fan of their music.
King Kapone
Man, I have tons of respect for all pioneers of electronic music. I'm really into Depeche Mode, y'know? (Who doesn't? - I'm such a DM fanatic, I musta worn 15 diff. DM sigs last summer). I'm hearing good things about Kraftwerk in this thread so I'm gonna check them out as soon as I can. Macintire Sniper
Am i right in thinking this may possibly be the the 'Kraftwerk' that did 'sonar blow job' with Portishead? I just need that clearing up.

a_fool_from_edinburgh
Kraftwerk to put it simply are pretty much the be all and end all of electronic music. Some people find it hard to get into but then some of their older stuff can sound abit antiquated, although for me it has a timeless appeal. If you are seriously into elctro and want to hear where it all came from get their album Radioactivity. It may all be very simple now but this album was released in 1975!! An elctro album form 1975!! Pretty amasing stuff really. My favorite album is Autobahn, i just love it but then I feel the same way way about the Man Machine Album AND Computer World!! heck all of their albums are amazing!! Their Tour de France offering is suberb (their most modern album i think), sure its not like most other modern day elctro but doddamn!! (especially if your stoned, this album will have an unbeleivable effect on you!! ) Listen to them now if you never have

It was nothing like the Devotional concerts which I've only witnessed on DVD.. but that's a good thing in some ways. I always knew Dave Gahan had a deep voice but in concert, it's deeper than usual. It was awesome, all in all. The way these guys keep going on and on after all these years and through all the personal problems.. it is terrific.
