SyphonPayne
When is Windows Vista even out? Man at least I know they're trying to develope it for PC. I really don't think Halo 2 requires Vista. I mean... Look at F.E.A.R., the graphics are far better than H2 and it can run on the "primitive" XP platform. GTA3Freak-2001
How old is Halo 2 anyway? Ha exactly, who the hell would want to play it now let alone down the track when Vista comes out especially given the crapness of Halo on PC not allowing AA. PsychoFlames
Of course it's a way to sell more operating systems. Too bad it's likely not to work. The majority of Halo fanboys I know enjoy playing on the Xbox moreso than the PC, and Halo was much less popular on the PC than it was on the Xbox. We can attribute all of this to Microsoft buying out Bungie, giving Xbox exclusitivity and delaying the game for a good year. This might also have to do with pirating. Supposedly, Vista is going to have tools to block pirating/warez built in to the OS, and making it exclusively for Vista will help keep it mostly legal. I doubt there won't be a way to run it on XP, however.

Dalpura
Ridiculous idea. The only way I'm getting Vista is when I buy a new PC and get it for free with the package like I did XP. If they did this for Halo 3, they'd have more change I reckon. Halo 2 has come and gone already.

Still, I'm going to be pissed if exe fixes have a dramatic drop off, simply because I don't want to have to f*ck about with putting the disc in the drive if I can avoid it. So f*ck Gaylo and f*ck Vista altogether.

AlianAnt
To me, this is a bad move. Halo and Halo 2 moved some more 150 USD Xboxes, but I seriously doubt that Halo 2 alone would move any 300+ USD Vistas. Im very content with my xbox version of Halo 2 and giving how much Halo PC pissed off the Halo community, lets just say it wont be a record breaking title. Metal up your ass! Cran.
Read about this before. I find it quite sad, Microsoft has told them only to make it for Vista. To deliver an optimal gameplay experience, Windows Vista will provide a great platform on which to bring to Halo 2. Bullsh*t. What does Vista do for games (Which windows will not even be doing anything but running the game) that XP wont? It'll be some crap like DX10, another thing Microsoft don't want XP to have. As far as Vista goes, it's just windows XP plus some crap 3d transparency sh*t. I won't be getting Vista unless I get it OEM. End of story. Well, or i'll download it just to spite Microsoft! JasonB
This is ridiculous, I very much doubt that Vista will have any ground breaking features that will make Halo 2 superior. At the max there will be a few extra graphical niceties that XP and XBox don't have. Nothing uber mega super special for the world of tomorrow. And as far as I know, Vista's new 'features' are nothing more then a few bug fixes, a lot more bugs introduced and a bunch of gimmicky and useless things to make it look nice (e.g. 3D interface). The only way I'll get it is OEM (very unlikely, since the only time we would buy a prebuilt PC is if it were a laptop) or my dad gets it from his work.
