Scarface187 222 Posted February 8, 2006 (edited) Has anyone ever seen this movie? This has to be one of my favorites. Its one of Pacino's best roles and add Robert De'Niro into the mix and you got one awesome movie. The plot of Heat is that Al Pacino is a cop and him and his team are trying to find and take care of this group of bank robbers ran by who else but Robert De'Niro. I could say more but I don't want to give the rest of the movie away. The last thing I will say though that it has one of the sweetest shootouts in film. Anyone seen it? DeusExMachina 0 Posted February 8, 2006 Truly a classic. Michael Mann's best and one of my top 10 films.
Demarest 22 Posted February 8, 2006 Yes indeed. The street shootout scene has got to be some of the most adrenalinistic scenes in film history. Music cuts out, lots of outdoor gunfire, complete with echo... and it doesn't stop! It moves for blocks. Unreal. And as much as it can kill some movies, the lenght of the movie really helps for the severity of it all to sink in. "But you do NOT get to watch MY television!" MyMothersMySister 388 Posted February 8, 2006 "But you do NOT get to watch MY television!" "I'm angry. I'm very angry, Ralph. You know, you can ball my wife if she wants you to. You can lounge around here on her sofa, in her ex-husband's dead-tech, post-modernistic bullsh*t house if you want to. But you do not get to watch my f*cking television set! " Loved the film. The shoot out is great but my favourite part of the film is when they meet face to face and chat like old friends. Sheer class.
Andyzoot 487 Posted February 8, 2006 If you love the Shootout scene you NEED to watch it on a Surround Sound system, pure Nirvana!
WidowMaker 50 Posted February 8, 2006 Awesome album... ? Who hasn't seen Heat? It was great except for Pacino's eye rolling shouty bits. "She's got a.. GREAT ASS!" Excellent soundtrack, as with any Mann movie, especially the Moby songs. I used to think it was overrated, but the last time I watched it, it really clicked with me, and I was left thinking about it days afterwards.

MMMS: Yeah that scene is classic. It was also the first time Al Pacino and Robert De'Niro met face to face in a movie before I believe.

Bizzare 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Well I dont like Val Kilmer and as always Pacino shows that just because your a great actor and you've starred in many a great movie some of them will still pick some stupid rolls. His character seemed way to over the top for a detective, as for De Niro only god comes above him.
TEoS 1,431 Posted February 26, 2006 sh*t, am I the only one who didn't like this movie? I dunno, I just couldn't sit through it. It bored me DON'T WASTE MY MOTHERf*ckING TIME. Awesome movie. It can drag a little at parts, but it is stil great. The bank shootout is definitely in my top 5.
Demarest 22 Posted February 26, 2006 Dragged? I disagree. In fact, the only part I felt dragged is the very last foot pursuit at the airfield. And that was over quick enough.

Wadders 0 Posted February 27, 2006 I'm a huge fan of Heat I love everything from the plot to the fantastic cast. I'm a big fan of Pacino and De niro so seeing them both in the same film is always going to be something I will really enjoy. Throw in Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, a great script and some fantastic camera work and you have one of the best films of this genre. Definitely in my top 20 films. TEoS 1,431 Posted February 28, 2006 Dragged? I disagree. In fact, the only part I felt dragged is the very last foot pursuit at the airfield. And that was over quick enough. On my first viewing, I found the movie a bit slow, but upon viewing it again I appreciated the back stories more. If you didn't enjoy it the first time through, I'd recommend trying it again. It blew me away the second time I watched it.
