|Zephyr|
Yes its me again with more f*cking problems... Righto. Not long ago I set up networking between my two home computers. The file sharing works great, its just the internet sharing thats being a problem. On the client, I can load google and msn, both will perform searchers, and come back with results, but I can't go to any other pages than that. When I type a URL into the bar, on either IE6 or Firefox it won't load the page. I have tried loading the IP of a site but that doesn't work either. The host is connected via broadband ADSL and both computers are running XP.
CrazyDude
Umm.... proxy maybe? That's the only thing I could think of. But I don't know why you would have one. Unless there is a virus that does something like that. Do both computers have this problem or just one?
|Zephyr|
The host computer works fine, although when the client gets restarted and the connection is lost between the two computers, the internet connection is also lost. Just have to redial and the host works ok again. So just the client having the problem.
Andrew
How is the network set up? Are you using a route to share the network connection between the two computers? Net -> Modem/Router -> Host and Client? Or do you have two network cards installed in the Host pc? Net -> Modem -> Host -> Client? If so, make sure Internet Connection Sharing is enabled and set up correctly. Also make sure the correct network cards are selected in the ICS settings, so Card1 in the host is the Internet Connection in, and Card2 is the connection to the other computer. |Zephyr|
Everything is set up correctly for internet connection settings, remember that I can load a few pages from the client...
