Grant_has_a_dream
Yes people i think i have cracked the sketchup col problems once and for-all. Ok, here we go. Make your col as normal with the .x file and steve-m's colmaker. Then open the col file in colmaker2. Click on Edit>Batch convert. A new window should appear. Check lighting and optimise. Also, make sure at the bottom right it says "keep". Then hit add, find the file you need to fix then hit OK. That should be you around the dreaded col problems of sketchup. If there are still errors with your model get in touch with either myself or junox as we both know how it works.
junox
hi grant i just tested this, and it worked way good , then i tried another file didnt work, then another did work 2/3 i suppose it depends on the error, but well worth trying , maybe contact steve-m to notify him that his program does this. i'm sure hed be interested in feedback . possibly find out what it changes ,to delete the invisible col file wall in first place ..... GTAThomas
this does work, and you heard it from the most well known sketchup user, junox. works really well indeed. maybe this could go somplace in the tut forum?
aad
It only works because you optimize the colfile so it wont give you any invisable wals even when u press only optimize and save most walls will be fixed. Dont imitate, recreate or copy just get your own ideas. Simplicity makes difficulty easy Just for dev's of the myriad team http://www.aadblaauw.6x.to/

Grant_has_a_dream
Yeah man i know so far i've come to a conclusion that it'll fix about 80% of your col problems. The others you either live with them, model a different way, or fix then manually. Edit: If you are relitavly new to modeling/mapping you will probably notice that alot of your files have col problems. It is usually due to inexperiance. Just keep practising and you'll find new methods of mapping that cause little problems and in most cases save a heck of a lot of time. If you are constantly getting problems i would suggest you open your col file in zmodeler or 3dsmax and "weld" vertices together to see if that fixes your problem. If not, reopen sketchup and deleate every line that will not be needed. Then try the col. If after that you still get problems i would recommend making a new colfile in zmodeler or 3dsmax. Maybe some other people can help you out on the new model part. Edited February 9, 2006 by Grant_has_a_dream

The-end
That mod looks awsome, are you having col troubles with it? carn't you just manually remove the invisable walls?

I'm not that good on manual 3d model "fixing". I have never tried because my map are built in more than 100 pieces.
The-end
Look's like your going to have to if this method isn't working, i think you can do this by grabbing steve-m col maker 2,open your col and look for faces out of place and delete them (i think you can do this in it)
oscarw_89
That ^^ would take years of time... I need a program to fix it, maby Steve M can fix a puggin progra mto hes Col Fil Editor2. I found a "clue" to a solution maby: I beleave that the collfile groups are the same ass the coll invisible walls. Any one knows how to make it to only one group? Grant_has_a_dream
Hey folks, currently i think the only way to stop it is use the method i posted way back at the start or you can simplify your sketchup models by removing unwanted lines, it does work usually, if not i would recommend you start over. GTA Sweden, it looks good but if you have bad col files then your pretty much screwed dude.
oscarw_89
I found out a way to make a working col from a sketchup model now. I made a special model in Sketchup using the "line"-tool. I just made a model out of the most important points on my model and exported it to 3ds. Imported into 3ds max and exported with Kam's puggin and it worked.
