noodles
The Olympics, while still attracting a respectable amount of viewers, has really lost importance; in America atleast. It was much more important during the Cold War and prior. I'll probably catch some of it, but I won't make it a priority.

pacman11
Noodles: Thanks for participating in this topic it really helps. I really like basketball though. I wish there was football.
Jordan
Is it just me, or was the only time anyone cared about the Olympics over the past 15 years when Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding were around? Also, that girl gymnast for the USA that hurt her leg but still did a perfect job on her routine... It's like there hasn't been any Olympics since then that anyone actually cares about... pacman11
No I don't think they care. I don't even know when the presentation starts.
noodles
Ice skating does a consistently good rating, even rivaling the Super Bowl once (Kerrigan/Harding incident). There was controversy over the French judge cheating a few Winter Olympics ago.
D Jones
Bode Miller has been talking a whole bunch of sh*t about Lance Armstrong. He better win a gold medal or all his talking will come back to bite him in his ass.

D Jones
He better win a gold medal or all his talking will come back to bite him in his ass. And then give him various cancers. Heh, yeah. I believe he also talked about a few other athletes that have been accused for steroids. The dude talks a lot of sh*t, but I've heard he's pretty good at what he does. Aren't some of the events today?
gta_player5
Bode Miller also made statements admitting to skiing while drunk, then he caught some flak from the international skiing association, or whatever the hell its called But I find it funny how you ski while drunk. pacman11
I find it funny too. Your sking while your drunk will be pretty hard because you can't go straight. ATTENTION: Today is the presentation.

-shaDow
I don't really ever follow the Winter Olympic games, but I do remember Nagano Olympics 1998 for Nintendo 64 was hella fun and that the American curling teams are going to beat down those Canadian motherf*ckers this time around. Jay
The funny thing is USA has only one gold. It has been one day, how can you possibly find that funny? Plus, stop clogging this thread with mindless push posts. If people feel like talking about it, they'll post here. Personally, I <3 all Olympics. Mebbe it is the lack of sponsorship being crammed down our throats or just the atmosphere. I just love them. @Everyone: Sydney rocked

Mebbe it is the lack of sponsorship being crammed down our throats or just the atmosphere. I just love them. @Everyone: Sydney rocked Sorry if you thought I was clogging up with mindless push posts but I really wasn't. I thought that the USA team was going to dominate in the Olympics just like they do in most of the Olympics. I thought that with USA having only one gold at the time was "funny". I guess my word choice wasn't said clearly. I should of said "surprisingly USA has only one gold." I'm very sorry. Now if you want to keep updated with the medals here it is: 1 United States 4 2 0 6 2 Russian Fed. 3 3 1 7 3 Germany 2 0 1 3 4 Norway 1 3 4 8 5 Netherlands 1 2 0 3 6 Korea 1 1 1 3 7 Italy 1 0 2 3 8 Canada 1 0 1 2 8 France 1 0 1 2 10 Estonia 1 0 0 1 11 Austria 0 2 0 2 12 China 0 1 2 3 13 Finland 0 1 1 2 14 Czech Republic 0 1 0 1 15 Latvia 0 0 1 1 15 Switzerland 0 0 1 1 first number is gold, second's silver, third's bronze, fourth is the total medals. The only way USA is first is because they got more golds than Norway does.

Cuse510
Bode Miller was winning the combined skiing competition fairly easily, but he got DQ'd after going off course. I understand that his whole motto is "all or nothing," but why can't he ever tone it down when he's in the lead? I remember the same thing happened 4 years ago, when he had a comfortbale lead but was going so agressivley that he fell.
pacman11
Yeah, that sh*t was an embarrassment to all Americans. So are you saying that the japanese suck at these winter sports?
-shaDow
No, I was just expressing my anger that the women's American curling team couldn't curl their way out of a wet paper bag. Total props to the Japanese and their incredibly loud and annoying curling skillz.
Jay
Torah Bright came 5th to like 1000 American snowboarders, so Australia has sh*t all chance of medalling at all. But like we expected to We are all desert, how can we be good at Winter sports?
