the_darkside_986
Link: http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Main_Page Has anyone here heard of this system? It sounds like everything I wanted from the PSP minus rechargeable battery pack and wireless internet.
jarjar
I was reading about it right here at its official site: http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/GP2X but what is it exactly, a add-on to the PSP, a hole new console, software, what? Also: rechargeable battery = Cool, i use mine all the time, well worth the money. wireless internet = Dosen't work as good as i think it should, mine works for about 5 seconds then....nothing! Vin.
It looks well worth the money. [/sarcasm] But seriously, I'm happy with my PSP.
the_darkside_986
Yeah I was seriously thinking about ordering one until I finally got SNES to run on PSP. But it gives me trouble, and I still want to develop for some kind of handheld, so I am thinking about it; maybe in the future when it comes with wi-fi and rechargeable battery pack. But then again, if they ever get a real Linux (not x86 emulation) on the PSP, then I will probably just use my PSP. At this point in time, I probably wouldn't mind a linux kernel that would overwrite the existing PSP firmware, since 'bout all the PSP games really suck. I've had more fun playing my SNES favorites than with any PSP game yet (except GTA:LCS which was decent.) Actually, GP2x is cheap for something that has NO commercial games and comes with its free Software Dev. Kit. Most "open" systems, like desktop PC's, whose makers do not make money off of games made for it, are really expensive compared to non-open systems such as gaming consoles. The price of it surprised me. I expected something like that to be no less than twice the cost of PSP.
matthew1g
why did they make it and not produce commercial games for it? and what is it exactly used for ? :S
Waste
why did they make it and not produce commercial games for it? and what is it exactly used for ? :S They made it because not everyone loves to play the latest sh*t game from EA. I can't really blame them for making this as it has lot's of great features and uses a more supported memory card format. To the second question; Entertainment.
