SeaNorris.
Well I won't go into great detail, because I'm not to sure if its allowed here. But if you load up an SA model, check what it has, then compare that with the model you want.

SeaNorris.
I do get what you mean, I don't have idiot tattoed accross my forehead. What I said was, you open the model in your 3d program, then compare with a SA model, see whats different and then change it, then delete the SA model all together and export it as SA.dff
Picolini
What you need to know is how the model actually works in the game. You need to know how to set dummys and axis's, textures, heirarchy. It shouldn't be too hard converting a car from VC to SA though, unless you wanted to update the model. But you would most likely only have to add a few dummys and rename some stuff, move it around a little in the heirarchy. Im sure you can find a tutorial on how to do this in the Tutorials section. Also, a good (and for the most part free) 3d modelling program that you can use to make .dff models for SA is Zmod2. You can import old .dff (VC and GTA 3) with Zmod 1.07, than save that as a .z3d file. Then import that file in Zmod2, and get to work. [i'd like to make a note, just in case. always make back up of files] And for what SeaNorris was saying, i'll use 2 cars for example. The Stinger from VC. You want to get it into SA, and i figure that the Feltzer, which is also a 2 door convertable, would replace it nicely. So open up one Zmod2 w/ the VC Stinger, and the one w/ the SA Feltzer. Compare the parts, rename the Stinger parts to match the parts of the Feltzer. Add the left over dummys and make sure the axis of all the objects are set at the right angle/orientation and the position is in the right spot. Then retexture it, make a new (SA) TXD file w/ the original texutres. And load it in the game w/ either GGMM or IMG Tool (2.0 i think) You'll need Zmod2 and Zmod1 for this, you can get that at www.zmodeler2.com , along w/ doc's and tutorials on how to use it. Also, TXD workshop, that can't be hard to find by searching for it. And GGMM or IMG Tool, again, not too hard to find. I think that should help, and if you need to learn anything more specific, like terms and stuff, just look through tutorials, they help a LOT! BenMillard
The San Andreas Vehicle Tech Doc is pinned at the top of this area and explains just about everything which has been mentioned.

Picolini
Like i said, read tutorials on how the models actually work. And im sure that the Vehicle Tech Doc that Cebera posted the link to above will explain to you what a shadow and coll. are. They are actually part of the model.... fuckindumass
If when you say it doesn't show up, you mean the vice car does not show up in Zmod1, then the file has been locked and you cannot open it unless you can get the author to give you an unlocked file. Make sure you read the pinned topic on converting cars. There are some rules that must be followed and there is not much tolerance regarding those rules.
