{DBC}Lance
since SA-MP seems to have a lot of things sync'd already, and the animations look almost as smooth as singleplayer, i wanted to ask you (the team) something. why does the synchronisation look almost as smooth as singleplayer? the cause may be ping, but still. offcourse this is a multiplayer mod, and it's impossible to compare it with a random multiplayer game(or a game that has multiplayer content -->created by the the developers of the game), but i always wanted to know why animations still look smooth in such multiplayer games even if you're playing with ppl that have a high ping (bad connection, slow pc or whatever)? and in those multiplayer games, you won't see that the sync becomes worse; but it just lowers the framerate to the level of the 'lagging' person. or does it just 'look' smooth, in other words, it's a bit fake? jacob.
This was brought up in IRC today. The synchronization may appear impressive in comparison to previous/current multiplayers for the arguable fact that for the first time, it's been done properly. From the discussions I've heard from the team, they are interpolating position changes over multiple frames via a gradual increase in axis velocities/move speeds instead of making an attempt to solve sync issues all in a single frame. This gives the illusion of smooth movement regaurdless of high pings, lost packets, latency issues, and so forth. Other technical factors should be noted, such as how the position vectors are modified (directly doing so supposedly results in precision error), etc.

rats
i'm a worms armageddon multiplayer freak, and Team 17. When the game gets laggy, it doesen't effect frame by frame, but it kinda adds up all the lag and it all blows in a single moment - so instead of waiting 1 second between every frame from a number of 10 frames, you wait 10 seconds after or before those 10 frames. Hope it doesen't make any sense so you guys won't try to do something alike (more additions => more time till release).
