bujo
You can model in anything, but your final product must be dff of course. I'm sure you can use maya, export from there to max in 3ds or something that works in both programs. I don't know how much skills you have, but sketchup kick ass for begginers (me). I'll check out later, busy at moment. See ya !
3D Studio Max7
But teel me how i do for textures no for modeling
bujo
PART 1: Click on paint bucket (1),in Library (2) you can find sample textures,in model (3) are stored textures used in your model (don't use same texture twice, select already used). When find what you want click on it (4) and then click on field on model to paint it. When finished texturing click on "window" and choose model info (6). Purge unused (7) and Fix problems (8) to purge any unused things and fix if there are problems. Go to File/Export/3d model (9) Create new folder (10) and check 3ds export properties, especialy turn off generating cameras.Export to new folder (11) Content of new folder after exporting (12). bujo
PART 2: Start TXD Workshop and go file/new (13) to create new texture. Select 32bpp Go to image/new (14) and make how much you need (32bpp) Rename Every image (15) so it matches the names of pics you get after exporting (12) also click on compressed so it's set on "DXT1" (or DXT3 if your image has alpha channel). Click on first picture on left and click import (16) and go to folder with your files. Click on picture with matching name and import it. Repeat this for every picture until you finish. Check every picture you imported (to see if you missed something). Click On "Save TXD" (17) chose location and save it. And now you have texture !!! It's in-game and it works. It came up very tall (i didn't bother to scale). If you still don't get it i can't help you. I think it couldn't be easier.

bujo
Do you know how to make model for gta? No i'm serious,do you? I uploaded model from my picture. Check out how it is made. It is in 3ds format and you can import it in sketchup. http://s64.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2AGGATA...2Z3KMXHBDIL0FZM You probably didn't make interior walls. You have outside but you must have inside walls too. If you look outside walls from other side they will be transparent. And please use search. There are couple good tutorials for modeling in sketchup (for vice city but it's same proces for modeling). Read everything about modeling, there are many basic rules you must folow. I noticed that you don't know them, obviosly. Search,Search,SEARCH. I am planinig to add it to Tutorials forum (not yet). I was thinking to make one big tutorial, that covers all proces (with many pictuers). From modeling to placing in game (for beginners of course). Y_Less
1) Don't repeatedly double post. 2) Search, everything is there somewhere. 3) If, as your name suggests, you have Max, try kams tools, you can texture, model and export with that. 4) bujo: that was a nice lokoing tutorial, if you haven't already I would suggest submitting it to the tutorial forum. 5) Speaking of the tutorial forum, I would also redirect 3d studio max7 there.
