bujo
What version of map editor you use ? Same thing happened to me when i tried to make new ipl with 0.21b version. Just make ide file with map editor and put your model in some existing ipl. Example: If your model is going to be in area of law2.ipl put it in that ipl. Do you get it? And are you sure your model is good. Use dff viewer to check it ,if it crash it's no good, although it can sometime show bad models.

bujo
Can you write on english,i don't understand you at all. Open up Map Editor (there are diference in versions but it's nothing big),click on item definitions tab, click on new file, opens new window in maps folder. Create new folder and name it how you like it (remember that ide and ipl must have (i think) same name as that folder),go in it and type name of ide and save. Now find it in list on left side of screen, click it,click on new item and browse to dff and txd in img archive (put it in before you start of course) set lod at 299 if you like. Click on save (save curently selected IDE line). Now click on item placements tab, click on some ipl line below (for example "LAw2.ipl"), click on new (NOT New File) to "create new a new item placement instance". Find Your IDE from the list, select it, and select your item. Wait for program to render selected ipl, input coordinates, rotation and so,ok it when done. Then click save to "save curently selected item placement file". This is it. If you can't understand it ,learn english better.

3D Studio Max7
Yeah man its working but where is my textures
bujo
I ain't sure ,but i think you gotta scale it. If it's tooooo big you gotta definetely scale it first (but this shouldn't cause problem i think). Double check your IDE file.Open it with notepad. It should look something like this. objs18631, modelname, texturename, 299, 0end2dfxend Is your txd good? Are pictures compressed? I heard that if txd is missing object will be like that, but if it is corupted it will be transparent (or something like that). And another thing,i think that collision name must be same as IPL and IDE,and name of object in collision is name of your dff file. This is it for today. I'm going to sleep (it is 4 am here)
Big-Bear
And most of all look, in the right corner under in the Progam, there is a Multiple Box, just put it on SA. And also most of all, you need to compress them. But something else could be, that you have don't fill in the name's in the TXD workshop, or the name's are incorrect

bujo
I sugest you to start from begining. I personaly use sketchup for modeling and texturing and max for rest. Texture it in sketchup (paintbucket is the tool). When exporting it from sketchup, put them in new folder. Every picture from there you must put in your new .txd. When making new texture in txd workshop, be sure you put right names (and compress them). Example. If picture ,you got after exporting from sketchup, is called "wall_01" then name it in your txd to be same. You get it?

bujo
When you export model in 3ds format (with sketchup) you get 3ds file , which is your model, and couple of pictures (number depends on how much textures you used) in PNG format. Those pictures you must put in your new txd. Create it with txd workshop. You know how to do it,right? And you didn't remove botom from your model. Right click on it and click "erase",you must do this (don't know why). And please post smaller screenshots (640x480) Edited February 8, 2006 by bujo
3D Studio Max7
How can i erase and when i export that model from sketchup thet pictures export in JPEG.
bujo
Erasing botom: 1.Rightclick on area you want to delete. 2.Erase Delete. That is it. And you say sketcup exports pictures in jpg not png. Weird, maybe this can be changed but i didn't bother to try it. Png is beter than jpg (or jpeg if you like) because txd workshop can import png directly. You must convert jpg into bmp (bitmap),tga (targa i think) or png (portable network graphics). Convert them with acdse, photoshop, good old pait can do the trick. Big-Bear
Do this only with Sketchup models,'for 3ds max, it haven't any effect, so far I know, I don't remove them. And never have bugs. But if you use origanal Sketchup Texturs, you could have this, because they are not good for GTA.

bujo
Please upload your model somewhere so we can take a look. I'm out of ideas. Pack all files, dff, txd if you make it ,3ds you exporthed from sketchup and all pictures you got with 3ds file after exporting. I don't want to steal it (i can make my own),i just want to personaly see it. I'm curious .
