Can anything go wrong? And what do I change from display options? Thanks a gazillion times this is a link for Catalyst 6.1 Windows XP drivers: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/KBAnswe...?questionID=640 it requires MS .NET Framework to be installed first. the link to download Framework is also included in the link above. make sure u UNINSTALL the current drivers before installing 6.1. if u know what u are doing, practically nothing can go wrong. if something does go wrong (highly unlikely), uninstall Catalyst 6.1, insert the CD that came with your video card, and install the drivers included in that CD. Mike0
I dont think new drivers fix the peds problem. And why would you want to put it to medium or more if it doesnt work fast that way. Just leave it on low. Its just badly optimized. I think Rockstar just rushed the PC conversion to put it out on time.

Maybe not the new drivers but there is a specific driver version that is known to fix the ped bug.

akebono
dude i get the same crap, your the first person that ive talked with that has the same problem, I have been writing to GTA tech support and they keep giving me ideas on what to do but none of it helps....my problem now is that i cant get the damn game to run, the disk just spins on my mouse and then quits, but when the game did work it did the same thing yours did, the npc's were transparent and it was slow......let me know if you get it fixed.....cool thanks... akebono
ok, this helped me with my situation hopefully it will help you with yours....i know before you said you turned your graphics setting to low, and that helped with mine also to be much more smoother. What helped with my npc's being transparent is turning your "Frame Limiter" setting to on....and my anti aliasing I set to 1.....this helped my game to be much more clearer....it did slow down a tiny bit with the anti aliasing turned to one but it is much more of a major improvement....now the game plays like it should.....hope this helps...Peace
MechanicalAnimal
When I sent the last post, after that I updated my ATI drivers to Catalyst 6.2 (yup, 6.2), my other games started playing like really good, before that they were slow too and lagging etc, some didn't even start, I haven't tried SA yet, but I'm quite a sure that it'll work well too If not Ill try akebono your tips thanks
